In this episode of The JCast Journey, host Darone Ruskay acknowledges with regret the end of one of the most important shows on the Network Daily Daf Differently. After explaining the ins and outs of the issues with keeping the show going, Darone thanks Jeremy Kalmanofsky and The Conservative Yeshiva for all of their help in making DDD a reality, and expresses his hope that perhaps the show could be revived in the future.

In this episode of The JCast Journey, host Darone Ruskay talks about the disappearance of subcategories in the section of iTunes that has podcasts.
Darone posits that this is because of the plan in October to end iTunes and put in its place a dedicated podcast application (like is already the case on the iPhone and iPad), but in the meantime the lack of subcategories impacts the ability for people to browse for new content.

In this episode of The JCast Journey, host Darone Ruskay talks about the experience on Friday of listening to the final hours of broadcast of WPLJ, a radio station he grew up with, and that provided Top 40 music for the past 49 years.
Video killed the radio star, and YouTube killed the Video Star, then Spotify killed the Radio Star again… and of course Podcasts killed the Talk-Radio star. All things change, and all things remain the same.

In this episode of The JCast Journey, host Darone Ruskay talks about the recent launch of the new podcast platform Luminary, and why, although JCast Network usually wants to be on as many platforms as possible, he is putting his foot down on this one, and is doing everything he can to make sure JCast Network podcasts will NOT be seen on Luminary.
If you are thinking of subscribing to Luminary, we encourage you NOT to, and if you see JCast Network shows on their platform, please let us know as we are actively working to get out shows removed.

In this episode of The JCast Journey, host Darone Ruskay talks about some “spring cleaning” that needed to be done on the JCast Network website, and how that led him to work on updating his biography on the site.

In this episode of The JCast Journey, host Darone Ruskay shares that a few months ago he “sunsetted” the JCast Network app that was available on IOS and Android. The reasons were primarily financial (but based on the fact that nobody has complained, it was probably a good idea.) However, although he no longer has an Apple Developer Account, he continues to get weekly analytics emails from Apple letting him know that the app has sold ZERO units.
Darone goes on to talk about how frustrating it is when unsubscribing doesn’t work.
