Jeffrey Don Lundgren was a very religious man. When he was kicked out of his church he started his own church, which may or may not (but definitely was) a cult. When the Avery’s joined Jeffrey thought they were a little too progressive, and they needed to be dealt with. This is what loosely inspired The Devil In Ohio series.
