Jesus is Real Radio with Daniel Fusco

Today Pastor Daniel will begin taking you through the Ten Commandments, diving into each one individually and spending time telling you why each is important. As he does, you'll find that there's more to these laws than just actions – they have to do with your motivations too. Everyone has failed to keep these commandments perfectly, but that's why we have Jesus! He fulfilled the law, and offers you grace when you fail!

God has asked His people to live and act a certain way in society, and it will likely go against what's deemed “fun” and “living” in today's world. There's a standard Jesus followers are expected to keep, and it's for your protection! God knows what can and will hurt you in life, and He wants to guard your heart. Pastor Daniel will encourage you today to build fences in areas where you're drawn to sin. And then, keep those boundaries!

What do you believe about what God can do? If you've been saved by the grace of Jesus, you know that your Creator is powerful and can take away sins! You know that you've been rescued, and you can rejoice in that! Pastor Daniel will tell you today that this knowledge helps you move forward into difficult circumstances. You already know God is in control, and you can trust that He will be again and again, no matter what happens!

As the Israelites continued to move through the wilderness toward the Promised Land, they developed a need for wise counsel, for someone to act as a judge over them. Pastor Daniel will share today that though Moses initially took on this role, it became necessary to empower others to work with him. God was teaching Moses, and you today, that He can and wants to use everyone for His Kingdom! In fact, God has a unique plan for you right now!

Today you'll find out, if you didn't know already, that God doesn't exactly do things the way most people do – He's definitely unique! Pastor Daniel will be telling you about some miraculous acts of God, including a battle between the Israelites and the Amalekites which was fought in an unusual way. God brought about a victory, though none would have predicted it! God's doing great things still, in creative and unpredictable ways!

The Israelites will be continuing their complaints in today's message, but their request may seem valid. They'll be asking for water, a basic need for survival. However, Pastor Daniel will point out that the problem isn't with what their asking, it's in HOW they're asking. They're demanding their supposed rights from God, rather than relying on what they already know about Him. God provides for His Creation, and you can trust His goodness!

Have you ever changed the facts of a situation in your mind to make it seem less disastrous? Or have you ever forgotten something that God's done in your life? This is what's happened to the Israelites as you join Pastor Daniel for today's message. These people of God had just been rescued from slavery, but when hardship came upon them, their memories suddenly became quite selective. They stopped trusting their Rescuer!

Repetition can be a good thing – it's a great way to memorize an important fact or verse, and it can help you focus on what matters. For believers of Jesus, Pastor Daniel will say today that repetition in the form of singing songs and doing certain religious activities can be beneficial too – but it can also be dangerous. There's a fine line between following a pattern to honor God, and allowing that practice to BECOME a god!

Praising God happens many times after an event has taken place. We look backwards at what He's done, and we can't help but praise Him! But today Pastor Daniel will encourage you to take a different stance – he'll ask you to praise BEFORE God moves, in response to what you already know about Him! God is and always will be working for the best outcome, though it may not look how you'd expect. Praise the Lord anyway!

Repenting of your sins means that you turn away from what you were doing that was wrong. It also means you STAY turned away from them! Jesus death on the cross is enough to forgive you, but as Pastor Daniel reminds you today, you shouldn't assume your covered and continue sinning! Grace has changed you and given you the opportunity for new life, so embrace it. Let Jesus work in your heart to mold you into His image!
