Jesus is Real Radio with Daniel Fusco

Today we'll be introduced to a young religious leader who was quite wealthy in Jesus day. He approaches Jesus with questions about eternal life and how to achieve it, which is a question many people still have today. Jesus asked this young man to remove the things in his life that were hindering him from following Jesus absolutely. Pastor Daniel wants us to contemplate how we'd respond in this same situation!

God is doing a work in each of our lives. Maybe today you feel it very definitively! Pastor Daniel wants you to feel encouraged as you listen today that God's work is necessary and life-giving! It isn't easy and will likely involve discomfort, but it's all for the benefit of your walk with God. As we journey through this life, we can make the choice to avoid the hard work, or we can let God dig into our lives and grow us into the best person He knows we can be!

People are self-focused in this world, there's no reason to deny it! We tend to look out for ourselves first and others second. That typically means we'll hurt someone along the way, and someone will hurt us. Pastor Daniel acknowledges this in today's message, but also tells us that the actions of other people doesn't have to ruin us! How we respond to what happens in our lives is on us, and with God's help, it can be glorifying to Him!

Today's message dives into the difficult topic of marriage and divorce. The passage Pastor Daniel will be exploring reveals to us not only God's heart on the matter, but also the hard heartedness of the religious leaders of the day. These leaders certainly were in the wrong, but today we need to ask ourselves if we're being narrow-minded about any matters ourselves. It could be that we're not allowing God to reveal His truth to us!

Pastor Daniel makes a good point in today's message: when we refuse to forgive someone, it's really doing us more harm than the person who hurt us. Our unforgiveness festers inside and produces bitterness and anger. Instead, we need to obey Jesus command and release grace into that situation! When we do, we'll be demonstrating Jesus to someone who needs Him. If today you're holding on to a hurt, let it go and forgive!

oday's message tells us in no uncertain terms that we need to imitate Christ's forgiveness. This isn't easy, and Pastor Daniel is quick to admit that! We need to remember, though, that Jesus has forgiven us so much! Our Savior died to forgive every debt of every person on earth. He loved and handed out grace again and again, and we need to follow suit! Forgiveness needs to be a priority, and that forgiveness needs to be given extravagantly!

We learn so much from the younger generation! Children seem to innately know how to love without reservation. Pastor Daniel shares in today's message how they seek simple answers, and they keep going after the joy they seem to find everywhere, even when life knocks them down. Jesus tells us to become humble like little children, and then, we'll be considered great in the eyes of our Heavenly Father! Today, we can seek Jesus as our kids do!

The world we live in favors success and wealth as its definition of greatness. People strive to reach the highest rung of the ladder, get the fanciest car and biggest house, and put on the show that all is well. This doesn't leave a lot of room for humility, though. In today's message, Pastor Daniel will share what God's definition of greatness is. It doesn't match the world's, by any means! Humility is what our Creator favors, and what He rewards!

Within a family, there are certain freedoms we get to take advantage of. This extends to the family of God as we'll discover in today's message! Pastor Daniel reminds us too that God has chosen to include us in His family! We don't always get to pick who we're related to, but we can choose to add to the clan. This is how God sees us – He's given us all the chance at new life because He WANTS to include us in His family tree!

To be truly free in this life, we need to die. Now, this may sound completely counter-intuitive, but don't tune out yet! Pastor Daniel goes on to explain that we need to die to who we were before we met Jesus! In today's message, Pastor Daniel will encourage us to walk away from who we were in the past, and maybe who we are now, and begin a fresh new start with our Savior! He's given us everything to set us free from sin!
