**The Story I Have Decided To Follow Jesus AND Song: https://youtu.be/Iax9J4zKKjo
A couple of days ago I was having a conversation about where the song, "I Have Decided To Follow Jesus" came from. After I had told the story, the person I was talking to was mad about how the man and his family died. The man refused to turn away and renounce Jesus and from following Him. Each time he was told to do so with threats of killing his children and his wife, He would answer, "I have decided to follow Jesus, no turning back, no turning back....the cross before me, the world behind me...no turning back, no turning back."
As I was explaining I began to speak about the breath of God in that man. And by that eternal breath he chose to follow Christ in life and in death. The breath of life is from God and the devil cannot stop it. Which is why he has always" been a murderer from the beginning."
That man and his family died in faith, but not before he spoke those awesome words by the anointed breath from God. Now they are in heaven, and that entire tribe received eternal salvation. They too then, received the new breath of God by way of the Holy Spirit to share the gospel and testimony of Jesus Christ. That breath of God has no end, it can never be killed off or stopped. It is a continual stream.
You see, Satan and his demons are spirits. Spirits do not have breath. Satan hates life. He hates all living things that have the life-giving breath of God. How much more the Believers that now have received the new breath of eternal life. Satan needs to use the breath of the souls of men and women to curse, blaspheme, gossip, lie and pour out filth. He wants to use God's given breath to defile it.
Furthermore he wants to shut up the mouths of all believers because he knows that all their "new breath" is of a new mankind through Jesus Christ. This shed new light on my walk in Christ and I hope it will for you too. It is revolutionary to me as I realize how precious and valuable His breath in us is, and what it is for.
Use your breath, rather HIS breath, for the good, for much prayer. Worship Him with a loud voice, sing praises unto Him, "talk ye of all His wonderful works." Speak goodness and joy into lives on the behalf of Jesus Christ. Breathe out the "Life of Life" as long as you live.
"On earth we breathe His air, in heaven we breathe His glory." ~Words spoken by a faithful woman at 90 years old awaiting for her time to go to heaven after spending her entire life on the mission fields."

I had noticed a day ago that there are only two people mentioned in the Bible where a memorial was mentioned about them. The first one was done in Judea secretly in a house by a woman who was a harlot. Christ, seeing that her action proceeded from a hearty and burning love to him, accepted her act as an extraordinary act of kindness to him.
He told his disciples. "She hath wrought a good work on Me.....Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her."
"There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band, A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God always...He saw in a vision an angel who told him, "Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God."
The woman was a harlot who was unsaved when she "wrought a good work upon Jesus." The Centurion was yet unsaved at this point, but in efforts from a yearning, loving, "God fearing" heart was a giving man. And was told by the angel sent from God that his prayers and alms came before Him as a memorial. The point is that though these two people were yet unsaved, look at the good work they wrought upon Jesus and the poor. God took notice of them and the work of their hearts. Their memorials are alive today and will be forever.
As born again believers, let the things we now do for others be from loving hearts. Demonstrated in the act of selfless giving for the rest of our lives, "as living sacrifices, holy acceptable and pleasing in His sight." This is the Thanksgiving and holiday seasons. The time when people are not happy, they are poor in spirit, suffering losses, and losses to come. Remember them that need love, that need compassion, "making a difference." Reach out to those who have lost hope. "Remember those that bound as bound with them."
Give yourself away, give words of Jesus Christ away to them, lifting them up. Jackie Pullinger, a missionary to Hong Kong said, "The principle of the Gospel is this. It gives life to the receiver and death to the giver." The more you give the more you die, the more Christ lives the more you live. Then you will really begin to live the resurrected life. There is no other way. Make a difference in lives by a word of hope and loving acts of kindness. Or in happy deeds and your life will come up as a memorial before God now and forever.
"I have held many things in my hands, and I have lost them all; but whatever I have placed in God's hands, that I still possess." ~Martin Luther

Are you being called to be obedient to something in your life? Are you being challenged by your own flesh and fears? By opposing voices? Yet can you say that no matter what there is a quiet persistence within you that is stronger than all outside voices? If so that is because it is of the Lord. There are many things we are obedient to in this world. We do not mind being obedient because it is in our new divine nature to do so with joy.
Every now and then we are met with a decision, a choice, a direction which is hard. There comes "fightings without and fears within." An internal spiritual war happens to challenge us not to obey. You see within you are the "deep places of the earth," where you sense the Presence of the Holy Spirit. And though He is very quiet, yet in His quietness is a strong peaceful confidence that overrides all the opponents both "seen and unseen."
The apostles were constantly met with threats of many kinds. However, they were very clear in their allegiance. They spoke to the high religious counsels of their day saying, "We ought to obey God rather than men." If you are truly struggling with obeying God in something, or perhaps many things, you will NEVER go wrong by obeying Jesus Christ. He will reward you and strengthen you. He will "be like a shadow of a great rock in a weary land," where you will find rest. You will never regret obeying God, it will enter into your eternal life.
"Faith, as Paul saw it, was a living, flaming thing leading to surrender and obedience to the commandments of Christ." ~A.W. Tozer

A few morning's ago I was walking through my house thinking about how good the Lord has been to us. I thought about how happy I was in so many ways. As I did, instantly my thoughts were interrupted. Another thought came to me that stemmed back to yesteryears. Memories of when all things were going well and I stopped keeping my "spiritual" eyes and ears open. How during certain times, the enemy came in all at once unexpectedly to destroy.
I stopped and stood in my living room and prayed. Before I even opened up my mouth, this verse came to my mind, "He (the Holy Spirit) will show you things to come." Then after that another verse came. "He will take what is of Mine and show it to you." So I prayed those very things distinctly.
I said, "Lord, You know all things, Your eyes are in every place beholding the good and evil." Since this is so then I ask You to show me anything the enemy might have planned to harm us." I had a dream after a few days that we were in a horrifying, violent car accident on the freeway. I soon began praying against that dream and warred against it. Soon after my husband was in a car accident on the freeway in the fast lane, but was completely unharmed. As well as the other person, and perhaps many were saved that day that could have had horrible eternal, consequences.
You see, the Lord will give you the advantage over all of Satan's plans to destroy you. Ask the Lord today and often as you live, to "show you things to come" by His Holy Spirit. If there are plans He will show you which way the enemy is coming up from, and God will destroy all his plans on your behalf. He has done it for me for decades, and He has no plans of stopping.
I pray the Lord will open up your eyes and illuminate them. I pray you will see today and always His protective love over you. There are many other things He will show you to come in life to always give you the pre-advantage in prayer. This is a wonderful thing and so precious!
"If you will tell me when God permits a Christian to lay aside his armour, I will tell you when Satan has left off temptation. Like the old knights in war time, we must sleep with helmet and breastplate buckled on, for the arch-deceiver will seize our first unguarded hour to make us his prey. The Lord keep us watchful in all seasons, and give us a final escape from the jaw of the lion and the paw of the bear." ~Charles Spurgeon

One day Jesus went into Capernaum into a house believed by scholars to be the home of Simon Peter. Jesus heard His twelve disciples "disputing in the way about who would be the greatest." When they got into the house He asked them why they were disputing about this. He gathered them together and sat down. He took a child, and set him in the midst of them: and He had taken him in his arms.
When I was reading this portion of scripture this morning it struck me. That child was the only one in that room whom Jesus had enfolded His arms around and embraced. Jesus also embraced other little children when His disciples tried to forbid those bringing them to Him. In another place there were those who were bringing young children to Jesus for Him to touch them. Jesus also embraced these little children in His arms after His disciples tried to forbid those bringing them to Him.
The Canaanite woman first came to Jesus in Matthew 15:21, "And his disciples came and besought Him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us." No, she did not come to them, it says she came to HIM, and He healed her daughter of grievous demonic possession.
That little boy in Simon Peter's home was most likely his son whom later, was known as one of the powerful, mighty, early church fathers. Ignatius Theophorus of Antioch who died a martyr like his father Simon Peter long before. Jesus is not interested in anybody's ambition to be the greatest, or the first, but to be abandoned unto Him completely.
I think that we all will be called to account about our ambitious disputes, especially about being greater than others. The best wisest thing is to rid ourselves of it all as filthy garbage fit for the oven of God now. Those who are most humble and self-denying, most resemble Christ, and shall be most tenderly owned by him. This Jesus taught them by a sign; "whoever shall receive one like this child, receives me."
Many have been like the disciples, ready to silence those who have success in preaching to sinners repentance in Christ's name, because they follow not with them. Jesus blamed the apostles, reminding them that he who wrought miracles in his name would not be likely to hurt his cause. If sinners are brought to repent, to believe in the Savior, and to live sober, righteous, and godly lives, we then see that the Lord works by the worker of Christ.
The enfolding, embracing, everlasting arms of Christ is symbolic of the intimate union between Him and such children. Let His outstretched arms hold you inward to Himself now.
“Anything we do to hinder a dear child from coming to Jesus greatly displeases our dear Lord. He cries to us, "Stand off. Let them alone. Let them come to Me, and forbid them not.” ― Charles Haddon Spurgeon, Come Ye Children

Lately there are many people I have been talking to that say they feel a great sense of urgency. I too feel that same sense. There is an internal knowing that time is more precious now than ever before. Many know this as well. I have also noticed that the words Paul spoke, "I am crucified to the world and the world to me," are now real to me. No longer is it something I have only known by reading this verse. Something is happening to all of us, and it is real.
Yesterday I was reading in Acts where Paul had been very busy in His missionary journeys. At one point he was in the synagogue reasoning with the Jews. They asked him if he would tarry longer with them, but he "consented not." Instead, he "bade them farewell saying, I must by all means keep this feast that cometh in Jerusalem..."
When Paul said, "I must by all means.." I take it that he was emphatic and acutely determined that he was not going to be persuaded by anyone or anything. "By all means" has intensity to it. Nothing and no one was going to stop him, and he was going alone.
I see that many people are asleep in religious activities now when they should be awake and alive. The holidays are coming up and now the people of God are more distracted than ever. But there are a few that know the time and they are "bidding this world farewell." Whatever you hear, see or feel that you know is hindering you in the way to the coming feast in Heavenly Jerusalem, do not allow it any longer. Get as far away from it as fast as you can. Let nothing get in your way. Give a deaf ear to this world and say you "must by all means be in Jerusalem." Let your hearts be fastened to this purpose.
"Fear arises when we imagine that everything depends on us." ~Elizabeth Elliot

I woke up yesterday morning with something within me that was powerful and solid. It was in the deepest part of myself. I recognized it to be from God, from the Holy Spirit. Early in the morning I inquired of the Lord about it in prayer, but there was no answer. I have felt this before many times. I knew that it was there because something was going to happen that day though, I had no idea what it would be. I have been around a long time in the Lord, and am certain it was the unction of the Holy Spirit.
Shortly afterwards I felt impelled to go visit my mother at the nursing home very early. I did not want to wait until the afternoon to see her when I typically visit. When I got there she was not among the others which she would typically be. Instead, she was in her bed, and I peaked in and saw her very downcast face. A look of dark sadness and loneliness was upon her.
When I began talking with her, that power from within increased, and I felt the Holy Spirit break out from myself, and I felt His power flowing through me touching her. I felt His very Person in a way that I can in no way describe. If I could I would say it was the "power of [His] endless life." The whole room filled up with His Presence and power. Her darkened face became glowing in the light from the other world. She told me before I got there that she was having a very bad morning, feeling that she did not want to live anymore.
She wept with tears and was full of joy as the loving power of the endless life of God continued to pour through her. It was if I could see Jesus Himself there visiting her personally by His Spirit, ministering to her. You see, this unction is what has been given to all of us. "For ye have an unction from the Holy One, that ye may know all things." 1 John 2:20.
When we walk with the "stride of faith" everywhere we go. We obey the unction of the Holy Spirit, which is knowledge of His will in truth. Unction is also considered by the Greek writers to be "a healing salve, a balm or ointment to bring relief." The unction is the life of the Holy Spirit in you, walking in you, living in you in all that God is, through you.
"Isn't it good to know that of His work in us, as is also true of His work through us while we are on earth , there will come a day when He will say, "It is finished." He will have winnowed all the chaff, only the good seed will remain; it will never be slain, never to come to life again; the soul will bloom as perfect as a flower. We will be like Him then, For we shall see Him as He is...."after the power of an endless life." ~Amy Carmichael

There are many endless feature characteristics of God that are beautiful and will take all eternity to search out. One of them is an action that He does and has done. He began by saying of Himself that it was He that "created the heavens and stretched them out." When we look at His sky stretched out over everything we are in awe of His endless wonders and glory. We see the seas and land stretched out and we are in amazement of His power and beauty and we are overwhelmed.
Even when "God is angry with the wicked everyday," "His hand is stretched out still." His mercy and love are ever stretching towards us from heaven. When we are overburdened and sorrowful, we pour out our souls to Him, and "stretch forth our hands to heaven." When there are times we are "walking in the midst of trouble," we stretch forth ourselves to Him in prayer, and He "stretches forth His hand against the wrath of our enemies."
There is no end of stretching Himself to us every day and night faithfully. He stretches forth His loving kindness, strength and grace. All that Jesus is is stretched forth to us in rushing streams of comfort. There is no end to what God is stretching forth for His children today, tomorrow, until the very end of each of their lives. Wherever you are, whatever you are suffering from, stretch forth your hands to God and He will stretch forth Himself to you and answer you. You will rejoice in the Stretching God Jesus Christ and our Father in heaven.
“The word comfort is from two Latin words meaning “with” and “strong” – He is with us to make us strong. Comfort is not soft, weakening commiseration; it is true, strengthening love.” ― Amy Carmichael, Kohila : the shaping of an Indian nurse

The time is upon us as a nation that we are going into harder times than we have ever known. We are going to be met with incredible challenges that will test everyone's faith "of what sort it is." Most of us have struggled through life and know what it means to be strong. We've prayed and stood by faith in the word of God and conquered. We have learned how to lean upon the everlasting arm of the Lord, and came out of the wilderness "leaning upon our Lover."
However, the days that are rapidly approaching are days we are not used to. It could very well be that we might find ourselves without strength or power to stand under these looming catastrophes.
In the very final days right before the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, the antichrist armies will surround Jerusalem. Within the city there will be "a few inhabitants left in it," and they who are "feeble among them shall be as David." In that Day God will give them supernatural power to fight like David did when he killed a lion, a bear, and Goliath. Along with these men, it says the Lord will "defend them and be with them."
You see, there is a strength only God can give us to stand with confidence in the evil days ahead. And to know that as God was with David, and Who will be with the inhabitants of Jerusalem future, then He will be with us. I believe we also will be given power to stand and "spiritually" fight in prayers and supplications unto God.
When Jacob was blessing his children, he spoke these words over Asher, "Thy shoes shall be iron and brass; and as thy days, so shall thy strength be." Deut. 33:24. We can depend on the Lord to do the same for us as them and have confidence in Him. "He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved."
“Cowards never won heaven. Do not claim that you are begotten of God and you have His royal blood running in your veins unless you can prove your lineage by His heroic spirit: to dare to be holy in spite of men and devils.” ― William Gurnall

There comes a time when all the long warnings of God must come to an end. I believe we are in that season now. There have been terrifying increasing signs that cannot be denied. Even the unsaved of the world see it and confess it. Signs that are global. Signs in the animal and bird kingdom. Mass die-offs. Worldwide devastating droughts. Coming intensifying food scarcity. Mass human deaths of people who are "dying suddenly." Total financial collapse worse than the 1929 stock market crash is certain.
The main stream churches are not ready in the least for what is not just coming, but is already here. They do not want to accept it no matter how many increasing signs are upon us. They blend in with the worldly masses in a delusional reality. The choose it. Yet there is always a faithful small remnant that know the times they are living in. They are now preparing spiritually with focused prayer. They are serious, and see what is coming, and have started the spiritual fortifying process about their lives, homes, family and all that is their by Christ.
We need to accept the reality that we are in the final end now. What is coming is going to demand great spiritual power in continuing, fortifying prayer. To stand for our lives and begin doing so now is the charge. This is going to be the greatest epic spiritual battle of our lives. But the victory is ours even now, "World without end." Keep in Jesus Christ by prayer always. You will "not be afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken." Proverbs 3:26.
