Today Will and Angela "The Salty Saints" joined me to catch up and share what they have been up to lately. I had been looking forward to this Koinonia Hour. Both of them are fervent, vigorous workers in the field of this world, alive and so full of the Holy Spirit, and active. What I love about them is they are so real and organic in their work for the Lord, it just flows like true living waters. Truly shining Jesus' light in this world brightly like true candlesticks.
Will is always daily on the go always looking for ways to make Jesus known, sowing acts of good service to everyone he comes into contact with. Sharing the Lord and praying with whomever he can. Angela is fervent working in her own field doing good, important work for the Lord. Though married, they both have powerful, separate impeccable walks in the Lord. So when they come together, it is a powerful dynamic. They have many irons in the fire on top of all they do daily.
They have a podcast called "Salty Saints" where they share excellent inspired messages. Angela has her own "Salty Saints" blog where she writes beautifully, expressing her heart in Christ. It is highly recommended to spend time there daily. Now they are on "Evangelism Radio" three times a week! They are tireless for the Lord, sincere and refreshing. Listen as Will and Angela flow in heart felt discussion about their deeply committed love for the Lord and full of joyful dedication in all of it.

Today Rena Groot joins me to share with all of us a brand new course she has developed called "Broken To Beautiful." I have know Rena Groot for quite some time now, and personally know her testimony. Without a doubt, the Lord took everything she had experienced from her painful childhood past, and right up to the current day. All her heart wrenching losses and the great victory of healing in the depths of her soul.
The great pain and woundedness that left her feeling as though she was not good enough, and had no value at all, was the work, and the outcome glorious. After the Lord took her through the path of deep healing, she then began to let those healing waters flow into river of healing for others. She screenshares with us the courses, ((which I refer to as "the water courses"), the beautiful verses of the love of God, His faithful promises that are tried and proven.
There is something about a person who has been so deeply wounded and receives healing from Jesus Christ, that becomes an eternal stream of life-giving properties. I am so proud of her, so proud of what the Lord has done in her life. I am certain that without any shadow of doubt, that this six week course will change your life, heal you, and cause an eternal fountain to be opened within you. That in turn those healing waters will flow wonderfully into the cups of the wounded all around you, "with ever-increasing glory."
"He that believeth in Me as the scripture saith, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water." ~ Jesus Christ of Nazareth"

Everyone is familiar with what feeling conviction is like. Speaking in a spiritual sense, that first conviction we are met with is by the Holy Spirit before we were born again. Jesus said when He would go to heaven, He would send Him [the Holy Spirit] into the world to convict the world of sin. Since then he goes individually to each person one on one whom He convicts personally of sin to save them, and give them eternal life. He does so in order for them to acknowledge their sin nature, and sins committed, and confess them to Jesus Christ. That conviction is the first act of the Holy Spirit in each life He engages. The same conviction goes on throughout the entire life of each child of God.
That conviction is always met with His comfort after the acknowledgment of their acts of sin are confessed. So He first comes to convict of sin, then afterwards enters in as "The Comforter." As time progresses, as they are growing up in the Lord, that conviction becomes the power of their faith. It makes them spiritually strong, resolute and steadfast.
There is also something more than being convicted of sin. It makes their prayers firm because they have deep conviction of the truths they have stood on in every trial. It makes the love they have for others more valiant. Because in their times of disasters, losses and wars, they stood upon the truths of the word by personal conviction of belief. So now they do all things by firm, experiential conviction in love, prayer and obedience. Every part of the Christian's life in thought, motive, action, words and deeds are all deeply rooted in conviction.
When that conviction first came to that person who first believed and received Jesus Christ, it is that same conviction that will keep and carry them until the end of their lives. What a beautiful thing conviction is!
Can anyone say anything negative that comes from the Holy Spirit? If the beautiful, beloved Holy Spirit convicts us, it is done in the most pristine, holy, purest love and comfort to restore. Any other kind of so-called conviction that bows a person down and strips him or her of dignity and freedom is not from Him, but the enemy. Begin to see that His first conviction in you both protects you and keeps you pure and holy. Afterwards it will make you full of courage, brave, strong and resolute like a great captain. Then at the end of your life, you will have beautiful, joyful firm conviction of seeing Him face to face in heaven land.
"You cannot preach conviction of sin unless you have suffered it. You cannot preach repentance unless you have practiced it. You cannot preach faith unless you have exercised it. True preaching is artesian; it wells up from the great depths of the soul. If Christ has not made a well within us, there will be no outflow from us." ~Charles Spurgeon

When we were first born again, the main thing to do was to ask the Lord to forgive us of all our sins. We were taught that we must go on forgiving others. We quickly learned that our first footsteps on the road to heaven were rough. Forgiveness was put to the test right away. In fact from that point on forgiveness has always been the ceaseless requirement of God for us. Jesus died on His cross for the ultimate forgiveness of the sins of all mankind.
One of the things He says is "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do." Forgiveness in many instances can be easy when there are small transgressions against us. While there are others that are so egregious that it feels that it is impossible to forgive, though in our hearts we want to in obedience to Jesus. Then there are other sins we commit along the way that hurt others, even in the name of the Lord, "thinking we are doing God's service."
Recently I had a dream where I saw a person who I had no idea how badly I hurt. That person in my dream hung their head very low, and told me what I did that caused them to sin. I instantly mourned and was deeply, profoundly sorry. I had no idea. I arose and went out to pray. I did more than pray, I poured out my soul to the God. The Lord showed me that it is one thing to forgive others for sinning against us, and another thing to ask God to forgive us for sinning against others. But I did not know that there had been people in my life that I caused to sin, who went on to cause others to sin. It set off a chain reaction. I had no ability to see that far and deep.
I had no idea about this realm of sin, and the tentacles that it has. How we can say or do something to a person in harshness, and they go away and take it out on others, who then take it out on others. I never saw that. God is a good parent, and like all good parents He teaches in illustrations and pictures. That is when God gave me a dream. In my dream He showed me plainly the depth of my own sin, and how to make it right. I could not wait to do it, even though I know it might be met with rejection.
Yet I was given the power to do it with great joy and peace. The freedom came and His light shone in my darkness. If we are to lay down our lives for Christ, it cannot truly be done until we go to Him in heartfelt prayer and ask us to show us what is in us. Then He will show us what we cannot see, and give us the mercy and blessing of clearing ourselves in confessing our sins to Him. To have our spotted garments washed clean in the Blood of the Lamb.
In the midst of his misery, Spurgeon discovered a mercy wider than his wounds and deeper than his depravity. “Print every word of that in diamonds, 'I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.'” Spurgeon believed – and we must believe – that God is in the business of new beginnings. No sin is greater than Christ’s desire to forgive it. No conscience is too stained that God cannot wash it white. Whatever guilt you are feeling today, be encouraged that the same God who didn't abandon Spurgeon will not abandon you. Take Jesus's words to heart: “Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).

Now that it is the first of the year, there is a stampede of millions of Christians who want to get an advance on what is coming. Today Mena Lee Grebin joins me to discuss what the year looks like, what to really expect, and what to do.
I think of the words of Amos:11-12, "Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it."
This is without a doubt what is now happening. There is an online mad rush to get a word about what is coming for this year. The more they seek for the words of men and women rather than the word of God, the more they begin to wander. They strike out for greater searchings, by going from "sea to sea." When they find nothing, they try going "from north even to the east" and they will "run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord." But God says, "they will not not find it.
They will only find that they were looking in the wrong direction the whole time. That doing so will have done nothing but put a greater distance between them and God. They will never find it because that is not how to seek the Lord. It never has been. God never said He sent a famine of the word, but the hearing of the word. Didn't Jesus say, "He that hath an ear let him hear?"
But the ears of this generation have their ears tuned to the endless voices of false prophets, and false teachers. The Lord never has sent a famine of prayer. Yet the very prayers of this generation are largely heartless, empty and shallow. Those that do pray find they are not getting answers and go away too soon, while others in large numbers only want others to always pray for them. They feel they are inadequate.
This is a heart matter. The seat of prayer is the heart in every individual, and that means everything to God. As Mena said, this year is no doubt going to be much worse than last. There are challenges, trials and hardships right up the road. In a larger way, this is a great spiritual battle as the enemy knowing his time is short is hitting harder than ever before.
Mena puts in strong, mature, but deeply lovingly words that this is the time that every believer MUST pray, and not to do so with half a heart. Those words of the hymn, "Come just as you are," should now be rather phrased, "Come with all that you are." Your life, the life of your loved ones will depend on it.
God will not let you down. Do not try to control how He will answer you. God already knows what to do. Prayer is power, and it connects you to Him. You have direct access with boldness by faith in Him, and you can trust Him to do for you what you can never accomplish yourselves. "In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence and his children will have a place of refuge."
"Prayer is a creature’s strength, his very breathe and being." ~Charles H. Spurgeon

Today is the first day of the year of 2022. Everyone is glad that the year 2021 is past. The ending of one year and going into the next is typically done so with reflection. Hope is always the one thing everyone has with expectation of something better than last year. But this is not like any other time in our history. Things are looking pretty bad.
We have all been witnessing the end of this nation. The pandemic is back and raging, and evil is exploding in ways no one has ever imagined. Fear is gripping all the people, and what is coming will pale in comparison from last year.
This morning I saw a lot of newly posted videos just put out for 2022. All of which were nothing more than click bait. People putting out videos on what the Lord specially told them what is coming in 2022, others saying, they have had an exclusive word regarding what Jesus told them will happen, and others regarding what Satan is planning to do. There is a stampede of people who are trying to find out from tons of false prophecies what is already in the Bible and what has been there all along. Today I saw a verse in Psalm 60:4 that reads, "Thou hast given a banner unto them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth."
God does not give banners to be hid away out of sight but to display. A banner is the sign of our allegiance to Jesus Christ. It shows what side we are in when in a fight. It shows the colors we wear. When the devil tries to tempt you, show your banners, show your colors. Because what is coming is largely a spiritual fight. And he will use all the fearful things to ensnare us. Then the devil will see behind us the mighty Conqueror who won Calvary, and flee from you.
There is another verse, "“He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.” So we see here that as we display our Banner of His Truth, then His Banner of Love will be upon us. It goes both ways. Have confidence in Jesus Christ, you belong to Him, and are not of this world. He loves you and has not brought you this far for nothing but to display His saving power in your life before this world.
"A voice said, "Climb." And he said, "How shall I climb? The mountains are so steep that I cannot climb." The voice said, "Climb or die." He said, "But how? I see no way up those steep ascents. This that is asked, is too hard for me." The voice said, "Climb, or perish, soul and body of thee, mind and spirit of thee. There is no second chance for any son of man. Climb or die." Then he remembered that he had read in the books of the bravest climbers on the hills of the earth that sometimes they were aware of the presence of a Companion on the mountains who was not one of the earthly party of climbers. And he remembered a word in the Book of Mountaineers...it heartened him, for it told him that he was created to walk in precarious places, not on the easy levels of life." -Amy Carmichael

At the close of every year there is a lot of outward activity in making plans, scheduling, preparation and stress. However, I have always experienced an inward solemness in my spirit. A quieting down happens. I begin to go over the year in my mind and heart. Thinking about all the highs and lows, the losses, tears, joys and sorrows. Which then propels me into the thoughts of what next year is going to look like, or what will happen. I know I am not alone.
This morning I read Numbers chapter 33 that recorded the entire journeying of the children of Israel until they all inherited the promised land. I saw that it was a record meticulously kept for a reason. I felt that in a way, I was seeing my own life from the day I was born to inheriting heaven in the future. I felt strangely comforted by that long record. Because God made sure that we see Him not only in their very long hard and challenging journey, but that we see Him in ours too. And not only here on earth, but later in heaven I think, as meticulous records will have been kept about our journeys.
As I went through a great internal storm that lasted for 3 nights, I heard the words of the Lord speaking deep within my heart, "Follow Me." I knew it was Him. That was all that needed to be said, and again, I was uniquely and strangely comforted. Because within those two words were the solid foundation of knowing that all is taken care of, and that He is already up the road. I will meet Him there in time to come. Even in the coming year of the good and bad, the highs and lows, as long as we are following Him, "surely goodness and mercy will follow us all the days of our lives, and we will dwell in His house forever." Amen.
The Lord bless all of you in the coming circling year, and grant unto you that you will be like great fruit bearing trees planted by His own hands at the waters edge of the rivers of living water. The Lord causing you to prosper, being in good health, and in the strength of His joy and purpose.
"But God is the God of the waves and the billows, and they are still His when they come over us; and again and again we have proved that the overwhelming thing does not overwhelm. Once more, by His interposition, deliverance came. We were cast down, but not destroyed.
-Amy Carmichael

Every now and then I get a powerful burning in my heart. It is strong and deep. It comes on it's own, and happens all at once. I know it is God without any doubt. It is a kind of deepness that is hard to define and difficult to describe or express. I can only say that it is a burning of God, a fire that does not go away. All consuming. There is a going to God in prayer over it and asking what He is doing, what it is? But there is only silence. Then there are "great searchings of heart" as to what He is doing, what it means? But it only burns on. All methods, ways and habits of seeking Him are empty. In fact it only makes it more real, more fiery.
It is a fire that burns away the dross of methods, habits and ways we have been doing in things pertaining to Him. I am aware that He does not want us to do anything more because it is found out to only get in the way. I saw a verse today in Jude 1:20 that says, "But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost." I saw by His light that He was speaking about how we build our house. And WHO is building it? Him, us or others? What understanding do we really have when we set out to build upon the "only foundation laid which is Jesus Christ." God is the "All-Consuming Fire" And what is wood, hay and stubble, He will consume it IF we are really His.
He will cause a burning to erupt in our hearts. He will pull down what we have built by laziness, cheapness and even fraud. Why not let Him burn it all up here and now? We need to all be honest and stop trying to preserve ourselves. What for? Our bodies are God's temple, God's house. Does the Lord live in you? Can people say when they see you, "The Lord lives there!" If you have that burning fire, you will love with a burning love, you will obey with a burning obedience, you will have a burning faith, a burning humility, and all that is not of Him will burn away in His fire. And that very fire will be visible to all that you come into contact with, and who see you. Let Him do His refining work in you, and you will then "shine like the sun in the Kingdom of our Father," "having no darkness at all."
"See how a single candle doth both defy and define darkness." J.H. Jowett

There is nothing I love more than testimonies. They are real and speak to everyone no matter where they are in life. The ones I love the most are those of people who find themselves in the darkest pits, in all kinds of chains of addiction, shame, guilt and heavy sorrow. There are many people that are in prisons of the deepest darkness, in impossible, hopeless situations.
Today Tina Patty shares with us the beginning of her journey that began with a great loss in her youth. That great loss brought deep grief and pain, that led her into drug addiction and slavery to the enemy. That path led her into darker places and more devastating losses. Tina shares intimate moments that I know will speak into the lives of many that will hear, that are desperate for more than relief, but deliverance.
There are so many things she reveals, shares, and describes about Jesus and His faithfulness, longsuffering and boundless love towards her. There is something in this testimony for everyone. It may be for someone you love that you may have given up hope on. It may be for you today, or to remember for a later time that will empower your faith in Jesus. Or to pass on to others that need this message desperately.
I remember the words of Corrie Ten Boom's sister Betsy while they were in Ravensbruck concentration camp during the worst hopeless part of it. When Corrie had reached a point of having no hope left. Betsy said to her, "There is no pit so deep that He is not deeper still." These few words gave the power of hope and faith in Jesus she needed. Tina's words will do the same for us.
"If you wear the livery of Christ, you will find him so meek and lowly of heart that you will find rest unto your souls. He is the most magnanimous of captains. There never was his like the choicest of princes. He is always to be found in the thickest part of the battle. When the wind blows cold he always takes the bleak side of the hill. The heaviest end of the cross lies ever on his shoulders. If he bids us carry a burden, he carries it also. If there is anything that is gracious, generous, kind, and tender, yea lavish and superabundant in love, you always find it in him. His service is life, peace, and joy. Oh, that you would enter on it at once! God help you to enlist under the banner of JESUS CHRIST!” ~Charles Spurgeon

All of us from one time or another have had to go with a "gut feeling" on something. That gut feeling is part of how God created us. We have learned to listen to a place within us that goes beyond the ability to know or understand something. It is a deep sense that has a warning voice, so to speak. Whenever I have not gone with my gut feeling I have paid a great price. On the other hand when I have sided with my gut, I narrowly avoided a disaster.
However, when a person receives Salvation the Holy Spirit makes His abode within their spirit. He is the third Person of the God-head. He is the very life of the Father and the Son who live within that person by virtue of the Holy Spirit. He gives us a discernment that is far deeper than a gut feeling. He is a very real person, and He gives discernment in every situation to protect us. Paul tells wrote, "For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ."
There must be our part however in the exercising ourselves in the word of God in order to get His mind on things. Those who do so can honestly say there is something within them that causes them to "press forward to the things that lie ahead." There is the "upward call in Christ." Something no human theologist, or best of the teacher can give us. No, there is a hunger from what can only come from the upward source. That something is Someone, the beautiful Holy Spirit of the Living God.
Also the Holy Spirit will give discernment in what seems like a hundred different ways through our lives. He gives us discernment in false teachers and people that seem like real brothers and sisters. He gives discernment at times when we feel that turning left instead of right while driving, is something to obey not understanding or knowing why. Only to find out later, there was a horrible accident. The Holy Spirit mingles with our spirit and prompts us, guides us, warns us, and convicts us. He knows what we cannot know, because He sees what we cannot see. Jesus says, "He will take what is of Mine and shew it to thee."
Stay in the word of God, let it fill you up. Never let your eyes depart from it, and as you grow up in Christ, your discernment will be a source of great comfort and safety in the Lord in every situation. "You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail." "Discernment is not knowing the difference between right and wrong. It is knowing the difference between right and almost right. ~ C. H. Spurgeon
