Joe & Joe Weather Show Wednesday Spetember 15, 2021   LIVE SPACE LAUNCH  Severe weather is widespread across the Northeast this evening with numerous severe thunderstorm warnings and there is tornado risk as well. Rain continues across the Central Gulf States and Deep South thanks to the remnants of Tropical Storm Nicholas. Low pressure is forming off the Southeast Coast and it being monitored for tropical cyclone formation. Unsettled in the East and South  Thursday and Friday but improvement may be coming for the weekend.

Joe & Joe Weather Show Monday Spetember 13, 2021   The Joe & Joe Weather Show will look at Tropical Storm Nicholas as it nears the Texas coast with flash flooding continuing along the coastal bend of Texas to Southern Louisiana. In the Northeast there is the chance for some severe weather overnight. We see severe weather risks in the Northeast Wednesday. Nicholas will be inland Tuesday and heavy rains will spread into the Central Gulf States. 2 other systems in the tropics bear watching. One off the African coast and another in the Southwest Atlantic. Both systems could become tropical cyclones later this week.

Joe & Joe Weather Show Monday Spetember 6 2021 after a 3 day hiatus the Joe & Joe Weather Show is back on this Labor Day in what should be a quiet week ahead. Hurricane Larry is a major hurricane but it will pass east of Bermuda and is no threat whatsoever to the US East Coast. The tropics are mostly quiet otherwise. Thunderstorm risk is set for late Wednesday with an cold front and then a dry nice finish to the week. We look at the long range and probably do some additional Hurricane Ida commentary.

Joe & Joe Weather Show Wednesday Spetember 1, 2021 Ida is producing widespread heavy rain and severe weather tonight in the Northeast and Northern Mid Atlantic. Flash Flood Watches as well as warnings along with Severe Thunderstorm and Tornado warnings are flashling on the screens this evening. Once the low that represents Ida it will be on to a nice dry cool air mass for Thursday into Saturday as we kick off the Labor Day holiday weekend. Tropical Storm Larry in the far Eastern Atlantic will become a hurricane tonight and a major hurricane by Friday. It appears the Long Range suggests that Larry will recurve east of 60 degrees west and not impact weather in the US.

Joe & Joe Weather Show Tuesday August 31, 2021 The circulation of Ida remains very impressive on satellite and radar loops this evening. Rain is spreading northeast through the Central Appalachians and will move into parts of the Northeast and Northern Mid Atlantic states. Up to 6 inches of rain is possible in some area. In addition the Storm Prediction Center has placed areas from Northern Virginia to Southern New England in severe weather risk. A rare 10% risk for tornadoes is indicated from Southern New Jersey to Maryland and the Delmarva Peninnsula. We will also be lookling at the Labor Day holiday weekend which appears to be mostly dry and no tropical storms or hurricanes are forecast to threaten the US over the weekend.

Joe & Joe Weather Show Monday August 30, 2021 Hurricane Ida has now weakened and will transition to a non tropical storm system. Soaking rains moving through the Tennessee Valley and then heading into the Central and Northern Appalachians, the Northeast and Northern Mid Atlantic states Tuesday and Wednesday. Flash Flood Watches are up for these areas. The remnants of Tropical Storm Nora from the Pacific are spreading heavy rains into the Southwest US where Flash Flood Watches are also posted. The tropics remain active and we will look at the long range through the Labor Day weekend.

Joe & Joe Weather Show Sunday August 29, 2021 Hurricane Ida overnight has strengthened to a category 4 and could become a category 5 before landfall later this afternoon in Southeast Louisiana. Ida will eventually move northward and spread heavy rains into the Tennessee Valley and ultimately the Northeast and Northern Mid Atlantic states Wednesday.

Joe & Joe Weather Show Saturday August 28, 2021 Hurricane Ida continues to march toward the Louisiana coast and strengthening along the way. Hurricane Warnings are in effect from Intracoastal City LA. to the mouth of the Pearl River MS. We will have a complete update on Ida and a  rundown of what you can expect Sunday. In the Northeast some heat relief arrived pushing a front to the Northern Mid Atlantic states where it is stalled. Hurricane Nora in the Pacific will head up the Gulf of California and bring heavy rains to the Southwest later this week hopefully easing the drought conditions there.

SHOW LESSJoe & Joe Weather Show Friday August 27, 2021 Ida is strengthening as it makes its way across Western Cuba and into the Gulf of Mexico. We have as a special guest former Chief Meteorologist Bob Breck of WVUE-TV in New Orleans to lend his perspective on the forecast and potential impacts of Ida on Louisiana. Ida is forecast to become a major hurricane before landfall. In the Northeast a cooler weekend is in store with a cold front moving through and stalling across the Northern Mid Atlantic states. This front will produce some thunderstorms and severe weather risk late today in parts ot the area. Ida rains will spread northward into the Tennessee and lower Ohio Valley and to the Mid Atlantic and southern parts of the Northeast during the middle of next week.

Joe & Joe Weather Show Thursday August 26, 2021 A new tropical storm could develop in the Northwest Caribbean tonight and conditions are very favorable for strengthening to a hurricane. The storm will track northwest and the risks for the Central Gulf Coast, specifically the state of Louisiana are increasing. Meanwhile the Northeast and Mid Atlantic will finish up a hot humid week and deal with a stalled frontal boundary over the weekend. Widespread severe weather is forecast tonight over parts of the Northern Plains and Upper Mississippi Valley.
