  • Zuck’s Guide to Manhood

John's got a new haircut! Of course this takes up a sizable portion of the start of the show's conversation. Once we move beyond that, the guys talk croissants for the National Day Calendar, and check in with Sam for Today in History(lots of birthdays!). With some extra time, John covers a leftover story: how to be manly, according to Mark Zuckerberg. Later, we'd usually be chatting with Dr. Tim Slekar of BustED Pencils, but he's out sick today, so instead we enter another edition of Idiocracy. The guys chat about some stories covered by Dom Salvia yesterday, including how three Milwaukeeans were nabbed by ICE and forced to prove their citizenship. Closing out the hour, we hear a long interview with one man who turned in his father for offences committed on J6, and who now fears for his safety in the wake of his dad's release.

  • E Pluribis Unum

In hour two we get to a holdover story from 6:00: a shouting match between Jake Tapper and Stephen Miller. We preview the RFK hearing happening today with words from his cousin, Caroline Kennedy, daughter of JFK, describing in unsettling detail his utter lack of empathy. After checking in with Brittney Merlot for a look at the weather ahead, the guys chat about happenings at the SCOWI, as justices are asked to recuse themselves from the case involving Act 10. Later, Mike McCabe joins us as he does every Wednesday, this time to chat about focusing not on how the government is blowing up, and instead to imagine a better, fundamentally different future. The guys focus on issues like universal healthcare and reforming the tax code, and then get into where it all went wrong: a shift away from the country's original motto: E Pluribis Unum - Out of Many, One.

  • Pee Wee is a Drone

Despite agreeing before the show to do away with the National Day Calendar, tradition has forced our hand and we cover the fake holidays anyway to start out the show. We check in with Sam for Today in History, and take to the skies as we hear some of the backstory behind the drone sightings a few months ago. In other UFO news, we hear about the conspiracy that there's one in the ocean now (!), and as Idiocracy begins, we shift to a discussion with callers on immigration, and why it won Trump the election. Closing out the hour, in a preview of the story on replacing income tax with tariffs, the guys discuss coffee, and what Americans will do without their cup of joe.

  • “Bonkers, Nutso”

The guys talk economics in hour two, as we review how cutting federal funding for a host of programs will tank the economy. In addition, we chat about Trump's plan to 'replace taxes with tariffs,' In a break from politics, we chat with Brittney Merlot about her time in Florida, at a pirate festival (!), and about the possibility of breaking a temperature record today. At the bottom of the hour John and Gordy cover a story from Ohio, where a proposed bill would require universities to "teach from both sides," on issues such as the holocaust. To make sense of it all, we welcome on Attorney and host of Amicus: A Law Review, Jim Santelle. Despite his usual calming demeanor, he agrees - actions such as revoking the 14th amendment, and pardoning J6 rioters are "bonkers, nutso."

  • Cruelty, For Show

Its Kazoo Day! John, Gordy, and Sam chat about the wild toy instrument, along with all the other National Days. We open up the (dusty!) books for Today in History, and later get into Idiocracy. In today's edition, we cover Ontario's proposed retaliation for US tariffs: a liquor ban, as well as how the cult of personality around the president is growing. The discussion turns to the deportations by military plane now taking place, and we close out the hour with news that the Air Force has cut from their curriculum information about the Tuskegee Airmen and Women Airforce Service Pilots, in the name of doing away with DEI.

  • Goin’ Back To Mad City

In hour two, after some technical difficulties, the guys chat more about ICE raids in Chicago, and hear from Greg Palast about the people wrongly purged from voter rolls before the election. The guys touch on AI, which can now supposedly replicate itself (!), and later welcome to the show Jason Ilstrup, President of Downtown Madison, Inc. They chat about changes to State Street and the isthmus more broadly, with reassurance about business turnover on the Great Street, and huge amounts of housing going up downtown.

  • Cold as ICE

After a long weekend of collecting stories, John (and Gordy) start out the show with a rant on how we're now living in a dictatorship. We chat with an early morning caller about the brave new world we're living in, before distracting ourselves from reality with the National Day Calendar. We chat with Pam Jahnke about how the weird winter weather is affecting farmers here and elsewhere, and also hear about this year's Farm Dog of the Year, Sirius. Later, we dive into a series of stories for Idiocracy, ranging from the late-Friday night firings of several Inspectors General by Trump, Denmark's response to the US wanting Greenland, and wrap up the hour talking about the scary and illegal ICE raids now taking place.

  • Heritage Foundation Booooo

In hour two we dive into the Big Story: more on the executive order banning birthright citizenship for children of immigrants illegally in the country. We get the Heritage Foundation's (wrong) argument on why it should stand, and the guys break down the blatantly unconstitutional order. With more bashing of the Heritage Foundation, the guys tear down Russel Vought, an author of Project 2025, and the nominee for Budget Director, who wants to "traumatize" the federal government. After the break, we finally get a break from politics, as we welcome in Jimmy K for a preview of Max Ink Radio and what's on tap for local music this weekend.

  • Contraception Begins at Erection

We should have taken the same strategy as yesterday, putting John in a straightjacket, as the first words out of his mouth are about Trump, welcoming J6 rioters, now pardoned, to the White House. After quelling that, we chat about the spooky happenings at the station lately, then dive into the National Day Calendar. The guys chat with Pam Jahnke, discussing the use of cheese brine to salt roads, and also a new GPS based invisible fencing system for cattle. Leaving the farm, we drift into the land of Idiocracy, today discussing a Mississippi bill that would criminalize masturbation (but is really meant to call attention to women's rights abuses), as well as Trump's justification for pardoning violent criminals. Wrapping up the first hour, we cover a story out of Milwaukee, about a Packer fan halting a Bears player from doing a Lambeau leap.

  • Good ol’ Wisconsin Gun Show

In hour two, as much as we're trying to stop him, John gets into Trump talk, with a clip from Courier News breaking down all of his broken promises (all in one week!). We hear some chatter with a Maga about whether or not it was right to pardon J6 rioters, and later dive into the State of the State address. The guys remain fixated on the weird behavior by Republicans, who all sat, and would not even support Evers in calling for an end to school shootings. Speaking of guns, the guys talk about just how easily accessible they are in this state at gun shows and the like. Closing out with Leftovers, we get the scoop on a Milwaukee weatherperson, fired for calling out Musk on his Nazi salute at the inauguration.
