John and Gordy begin as usual looking at the National Day Calendar and Today in History, and welcome back Pam Jahnke, the Fabulous Farm Babe, to talk about attending the premiere of Green and Gold, the Packer movie, and chatting with Wisconsin farmers about their role in making the movie. Later in Idiocracy, we dive into Trump's plan to renew the War on Drugs (cocaine for me but not for thee?), and close out the hour with John's rap on Vicki McKenna, Brad Schimel, and their defense of January 6th.

  • California (and Democracy) on Fire

We kick off hour two discussing the wildfires outside of LA, and the unprecedented damage and danger its causing. We also dive more into the decision by Meta to get rid of fact checking, making Zuckerberg's platform ripe for hate groups going forward. We chat with Brittney Merlot about the fires out west, check the local weather, and discuss a true Wisconsin pastime, ice fishing. Later, Nick Ramos, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign joins the guys in studio to talk about what's going on with the WDC in 2025, including the April SCOWI election, proposed amendments to the constitution by the legislature, voter ID, and more.

  • Teachers or Terrorists?

Its a laid back Thursday for John and Gordy. After conquering the National Day Calendar and Today in History, they welcome on Dr. Tim Slekar of BustED Pencils as they do every Thursday, to talk alternatives to completely dismantling the Department of Education, and the goal of public education overall. They also dive into the problematic Ryan Walters, State Superintendent of Oklahoma, who is targeting public school teachers and calling them terrorists.

  • A Complete Unknown

In hour two, the guys have a conversation with callers about the new speed limits in Madison, and the cost of updating the signs. Brittney Merlot checks in to talk the California wildfires and upcoming weather here in Wisconsin. At the bottom of the hour, we quickly dive into Meta getting rid of fact checking, and later, Mike McCabe joins us for the first time in 2025! He and the guys discuss what's been on his mind the past few weeks: the Bob Dylan movie A Complete Unknown, parallels between history and today, and January 6th. He recounts his experience witnessing a coup in 1991 in Mali, and how four years ago in DC was an eerily similar sight. After returning to Dylan for a bit, we close out the show talking about the need for universal healthcare.

  • Trump Timepieces

Hump day kicks off with an edition of Show and Tell with Johnny, as he finally brought in his talking Trump clock! We get into the National Day Calendar as usual, and unsurprisingly talk more about the fake day than the real ones: "Newspaper Appreciation Day." We check in with Sam for Today in History, then get into today's edition of Idiocracy. From the Daily Show, we hear what really happened on January 6th. Closing out the first hour, we talk Short Stack, and listen to a compilation of interviews we did awhile back with Alex Lindenmeyer, one of the owners.

  • Winter There, but Not Here

In hour two, we talk electric cars, with the news that Teslas are freezing in Chicago, refusing to take a charge and leaving their owners stranded. We then get into Mike Johnson's vow to dismantle "big government," the government that is of, by, and for the people, and serves a useful purpose. Brittney Merlot checks in for our daily look at the weather, and to talk (the lack of) snowmobiling, before hearing the hottest take, that women shouldn't be allowed to vote. Later, though we've discussed it before, the guys ask the question again: is Trump a fascist? After we find out, we get another edition of MAGAs Say the Darndest Things, this time on Taxes and Tariffs. For the Leftovers today, the guys talk about another Trump tweet, where he blames windmills for a windfall tax.

  • Greenland Is Not Ours

Its a frosty one today! After John's complaints about scraping car windows, we get into the National Day Calendar, and a NEW digital version of Today in History with Sam. In today's edition of Idiocracy, the guys have a breakdown over Trump, continuing to pursue his pipedream of taking over Greenland. We also talk religion, and decide once and for all whether Trump is more like Jesus or Satan. After diving into economics and polling (and the backwardness of many people's opinions) we welcome on Lisa Bernard from the Dane County Humane Society for another edition of the Dating Game.

  • Elon, Recipient of Daddy’s Money

In hour two, the guys get up in arms against Elon Musk, who is now arguing that only autistic males should be allowed to vote (!). We talk about Canada, and how detrimental tariffs would be to the economy if Trump cleavers our largest trading partner. We also hear from Honduras, and their warnings about the presence of US military bases in their country, should the US (Trump) retaliate against Honduran migrants. Later, John and Gordy chat with a caller more about Elon Musk, and his history of doing nothing for himself - utilizing "daddy's money" to accomplish everything. We cover the story about Trump's complaint about half-staff flags for his inauguration (in honor of the late Jimmy Carter), and discuss more of the conservative media takeover: Kari Lake, bringing a right-wing bent to Voice of America. Closing out, the guys chat about the post office, and more of the (dumb) push to privatize it.

  • Living at Costco

Its the first Monday of the New Year! John and Gordy snap back to reality for their first full week of 2025. They cover the National Day Calendar as usual, but John, resident of Costco, buts in to expound on the news that the company is going to be building apartments above retail outlets. We check in with Sam for Today in History, and listen to the words of FDR (lost on many today) as we transition into Idiocracy. Today we get into Trump's lies about the American education system, and also domestic terrorism - with the example of Eric Swalwell, who now spends over $300,000 per year on security for himself and his family. Wrapping up the first hour, the guys talk through the news that another Madison institution, Short Stack Eatery, will be closing - to mixed reactions by the public.

  • Rökker, Safe and Sound

In hour two the guys dive into the Big Story: Trump and other MAGAs sewing disinformation about the tragedy in New Orleans on New Years, claiming it was the fault of an illegal immigrant (it wasn't). We check in with Brittney Merlot for out daily look at the weather, and later welcome on Jimmy K, in for Rökker to cover the Max Ink preview, and what's on tap for local music in the coming weeks. We also get the backstory on Max Ink Radio, and how Jimmy and Rökker came to meet.
