1984 IFBB Mr. Universe John Hnatyschak is the guest this week on the Bodybuilding Legends Podcast. John talks about his rapid rise in the sport of bodybuilding, winning the Mr. Universe in only his sixth contest of his career and competing as a professional bodybuilder including entering the 1987 Mr. Olympia. John is now an NPC/IFBB judge and he talks about the importance of shape and symmetry compared to muscle mass and definition in today's competitions. At the end of the podcast, host John Hansen reads an article about bodybuilding written by Pumping Iron author Charles Gaines for Sports Illustrated magazine in 1972, the first article about bodybuilding that was published in a mainstream magazine.
