John Shaddick is the Director of Sundstrom Recruitment. He is WA’s leading recruiter of

Health, Safety and Environmental professionals. He founded the agency in 2020. By focusing

on this specialist area and committing wholly to client satisfaction, the business is achieving

rapid and sustainable growth and now leads the market.

John came to recruiting from a varied international background in the mining and

technology sectors. While qualifying as a driller with a leading mining services provider, he

identified the critical importance of dedicated HSEQ professionals within high-risk

businesses, and the importance of cultural and technical alignment between professional

and company. However, there was no recruitment agency specifically meeting this critical

need. John decided to set one up himself. This decision proved fruitful, even starting during a worldwide downturn, Sundstrom

Recruitment has rapidly grown to a team of five and is now the largest dedicated HSEQ

recruitment agency in Western Australia.
