  • CC 105: The Difference between CBD and CBN

    In this episode of the podcast, Joe explains the major differences between CBD and CBN. Both cannabinoids have calming properties, and presents with similiar responses in the brain, but they diverge in their overall physiological effect in the body. While CBD is commonly recommended for general aches and pains, and mood regulation, CBN is known for its more focused sedating benefits.

    Each cannabinoid has its own unique set of characteristics, and understanding where they vary can help you determine your individual daily dose.

    “The best way to take all these cannabinoids is in combination with each other. The cannabinoids work synergistically and provide more of a benefit than just one cannabinoid in its isolated form.” – Joseph Sheehey

    Key Highlights

    • What is the difference between CBD and CBN;
    • How to determine the best supplements for you and your current needs;
    • Why hemp is different than marijuana;
    • Clarifying the terms frequently used to describe cannabinoids, such as "psychoactive" and "non-intoxicating," as well as what you can expect from CBD, CBN, and THC.

  • CC 104: The Most Effective Cannabinoids

    Joe takes you through the differences between cannabis in capsule form versus sublingual oil. When capsules are ingested they go through the entire process of the digestive track and when we use oil underneath the tongue they are absorbed by our system in a quicker manner. So, in terms of absorption, sublingual products can be considered stronger. However, capsules are far more concentrated than oils which can lead to a faster process – if we are on an empty stomach, it will also influence the effectiveness of capsules. Tune in to learn more!

    “Although the sublingual dropper may have a quicker onset, people are feeling that if you took the same dose in a capsule form, they felt the effect stronger.” – Joseph Sheehey

    Key Highlights

    • Learn the differences between consuming cannabis in a capsule form versus sublingual oils. Joe explains which one is quicker, more effective, which one is more concentrated, and which one might be the best option for you.

  • CC 103: The Difference Between CBD Oils and Tinctures

    In this episode, Joe explains the difference between CBD oils and tinctures. Tinctures are mainly created through alcohol extractions, while oils can be produced using a wider variety of methods. Most often, CBD oils are the result of mixing CBD extract with a carrier oil, like MCT oil. In general, CBD oils are far more common to find than CBD tinctures.

    “Supplements and supplement companies have looked a certain way in the past and they will look different in the future. We are the company that will be laying the groundwork for that future.” – Joseph Sheehey

    Key Highlights

    • What the difference is between CBD oils and tinctures;
    • Why Cured Nutrition is invested in laying the groundwork for the future of the supplement industry;
    • How to understand the role of supplements and why they might be one of life’s daily necessities.

  • CC 102: A Future Different Than the Past

    In this episode, Joe talks about the concept of ‘core values’ and how they are extremely important to define our future moments and the person that we want to be. When we know change is necessary and we want to be a different person than we are right now, it’s important to start being this person today. If it’s something we don’t know how to do, we may find our core values very helpful.

    On a similar note, the future we hope to have and the future version of ourselves is completely unknown. We might have a vague idea but it’s unfamiliar to us, at this point. By operating through our core values each and every day, very likely the weeks, months, and even years – a.k.a. the future ahead – will be something you’ll be very proud of. Tune in to learn more!

    “We don’t necessarily know what that future is going to look like, but if we approach our day to day decisions and actions through the filter of ‘what is it that I value?’ and ‘who do I want to be in the future?’, you might not know what that destination is

    If you operate every single day, every single month, every single year by making decisions based on what it is you value […] you become that person.” – Joseph Sheehey

    Key Highlights

    • You will always find yourself in the gap of who you are and who you want to be if you don’t start operating in a different way than the past;
    • When going through a journey of true change, ups and downs are normal and it’s fundamental to focus on progress more than anything;
    • Your values make who you are (and thinking about who you are by these lens will help you unravel your identity more easily).

    In this episode of Cured Collective Podcast, Joe breaks down the importance of supplementing your diet with Vitamin D. Researchers have recently discovered the essential role of Vitamin D in activating your immune system. It’s estimated that 77% of Americans have insufficient levels of this micronutrient; yet without adequate Vitamin D, the cells responsible for protecting the body from various pathogens remain inactive, ineffective, and harmless to viruses and bacteria.

    “We’re here as conduits to Mother Nature, providing you with the ingredients that your mind and body actually need to thrive. One of those ingredients is Vitamin D.”

    Key Highlights

    • The relationship between Vitamin D and Killer T Cells

  • CC 100: Are You a Skeptic?

    In today’s episode of Cured Collective Podcast, Joe shares his thoughts on a sentiment we all know and understand: skepticism. In the supplement industry, many consumers understandably feel a sense of skepticism. They may wonder which brands they can genuinely trust or they may question the purity of the ingredients; the list is nearly endless.

    This is especially prevalent among CBD companies and the various CBD products on the market. With the market’s recent surge in popularity and accessibility, there are likely more companies selling questionable products than there are companies committing to diligence, integrity, and service. We like to think we’re on the right side of history with this one, but we aren’t always the first CBD company consumers try.

    As a result, individuals have grown skeptic about the efficacy of CBD in general, versus shady companies in particular. Today, Joe wants to help you mold your skeptic muscle into one of critical discernment. Tune in to learn what qualities to look for in a supplement company and how to finally find high-quality supplements that elevate your existence.

    “The truth is: the stuff works. And there are a lot of people that have been given a disservice to something that is really powerful, will be around for a long time, and will shape our futures.” – Joseph Sheehey

    Key Highlights

    • Joe explains one of the common root causes of skepticism, especially within the supplement industry;
    • Why some products may not be effective and how this impacts trust;
    • How to differentiate between distrusting a specific company or product, versus an herb or supplement as a whole;
    • How to find honest brands that care about quality control and serving their consumers.
