Jon continues hour two by talking all things Atlanta Falcons with Tori McElhaney of the Athletic. Jon starts things off by asking Tori how pleased was the coaching staff with the Falcons’ third down performance last week, and how important will it be to have another good third down performance this week. Tori says she went back to look at the Falcons’ productivity on first and second down, and Tori says “It wasn’t even first down, it was second down” that the Falcons were falling behind. Tori continues her thought by saying the coaching staff was pleased with their performance last week, but still not pleased overall because “They didn’t win.” Next, Jon asks Tori what’s going on with Todd Gurley, and why has there been such a fall off these past couple of weeks. Tori says “I really think it’s the knee injury.” Tori continues by saying that “I think sometimes he’s being asked to do things he can’t do with that knee right now.” Next, Jon asks Tori if she thinks the coaching staff has been pleased with Todd Gurley’s production this season, and Tori responds by saying “I think it’s the offense as a whole not being productive, and the coaching staff isn’t pleased with the offensive production overall.” Next, Jon asks Tori about the Bucs pass rush, and how the Falcons are planning to slow it down. Tori says “This offense has to come out and know this is going to be a bug challenge for them.” Tori continues by saying that “You do have to worry about what this Falcons offense will be able to do if the Buccaneers are able to get to Matt Ryan.” Next, Jon asks Tori about how tough this game will be for the Falcons because of the Bucs playing for their playoff lives. Tori responds by saying that “The Falcons are not catching the Bucs at a good time.” Tori continues by saying that “This a tough three week stretch for the Falcons by taking on a good time in Tampa Bay and the best team in Kansas City, so this is going to be a tough stretch for the Falcons.” Next, Jon asks Tori about A.J. Terrell and how much he’s looking forward to these next three games going up against top competition, and Tori responds by saying “He is very excited, and looking forward to the challenge, and he is really confident in his abilities to shut top receivers down.” Finally, Jon asks Tori if she expects to see Julio the rest of the season, and Tori responds by saying that she’s not sure, but Raheem has said that there is a chance he could play the last two games.”
