Series Three
This episode of #TheNewAbnormal podcast features Jonathan Wise, co-founder of Purpose Disruptors, who believes that the advertising industry needs to step into the responsibility of helping to address our climate and ecological emergency.
His background is as a strategic planner, with 15 years experience in major London advertising agencies and a Masters degree in Sustainability & Responsibility. Jonathan then co-founded the ‘Purpose Disruptors’ group, whose goal is to create a bottom up movement within the ad industry, that will act in solidarity to meaningfully tackle climate change.
He's also a regular public speaker e.g. at D&AD, the Austrian Embassy, Bestival, the MBA programme at Imperial College London, and ‘MayDay’, an anarchist’s resource centre.
I found his views to be a compelling insight into leading-edge thinking about the actions that need to be taken regarding the climate & ecological emergency, and the role that adland (in particular) needs to play in order to enact a positive and constructive role.
