Ruhani, Sharanya, and Keerthi showcase a program about different types of journalistic endeavors. What is journalism? According to Britannica, journalism is “the collection, preparation, and distribution of news and related commentary and feature materials through such print and electronic media as newspapers, magazines, books, blogs, webcasts, podcasts, social networking, and social media sites, and e-mail as well as through radio, motion pictures, and television.” Nerd Extraordinaire, Keerthi, provides a humorous, yet informative segment about debate and evidence. According to her, journalism is the life, the soul, the epitome, the substance, the essence, of a debater. In the Scribble, Sharanya, admits she likes being a detective to find the bias in journalism. She shares a short piece she wrote about the history of Roe versus Wade as an exhibit in bias. Ruhani has experience with journalistic writing for her school paper and one of her narratives was published by the New York Times. She tells us how to spot inaccurate information or “fake news”. Ruhani reads the review she wrote for Adele’s Album 30 as an example of writing with context and authenticity. • Follow us: https://www.starstyleradio.com/expressyourselfteenradio • https://www.facebook.com/ExpressYourselfTeenRadio/ • https://www.facebook.com/BTSYAcharity/ • Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/expressyourselfradio/
