Journey to Change

Made 3 and didn’t upload any of them so I decided to combine them into one haha.

Seems like there’s construction everywhere I’m going in the city lately. So I had to figure out what detour to take to get to where I needed to be. When it comes to life’s detours, when you see the road closed, wrong way, etc.. what do you do? Do you go on and plow right through even though you know you need to take a different route?

I went to grab my keys off the key hanger by the door and they weren’t there. Looked on the counter where they used to always be and of course that’s where they were. How many of us out here don’t use what we have? We buy things for certain purpose, and never use it or we end up not using it for what it’s made for. (For example: a chair in the room ends up being a place for our clothes instead of us actually sitting in it! 😁) I believe that we all have what we need within us to succeed, we just don’t use it.

How do you fight the funk when it hits? Sometimes I take a drive somewhere to clear my head. I try not to ever put it on anyone but this time I did. Maybe it’s different when they ask if you’re good and if you want to talk instead of just dumping on them. Women, full of emotions and hormonal issues haha. Things will pass, today I feel this way, but hopefully tomorrow I’ll be all good!

Have you been going through life with blurred vision??

What do you seek during a dark moment or when you feel like you’re in a valley that you can’t get out of? I think we put a lot of significance on things that don’t matter and very little on what does. Sometimes we continue in a valley because we don’t want to do the work to get out of it. It’s easier to put responsibility on another or just to remain lazy and not take accountability for ourselves. Sometimes we are what we choose to be and we remain where we’re at because we choose to remain in that place.

Do you feel valuable? Are you able to determine that for yourself or do you rely on others and things in life to define that for you? We give people too much authority over us; we let our jobs, our relationships, and our families put an emphasis on the value of our lives. How come?

Just watched Inside Out 2 and the audacity of it being so relatable! Haha sometimes movies are our reality and we don’t even realize it. To me joy is deep rooted in our soul, and if we focus on that instead of happiness we’ll be better off in life.

You ever had a conversation that took you back, way back, back into time? Haha those are part of some lyrics to an old song too, if you know, you know. Anyway I had that conversation, and it actually helped me. Sometimes revisiting the past can help with the future.
