Beth Popp, MD, FACP, is a professor in the Brookdale Department of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York. She has dedicated her career to improving care and quality of life for cancer patients.
Dr. Popp has served as a clinician educator and provided leadership to develop hospital-based inpatient and ambulatory palliative care services at three medical centers in the New York area over a career that has already spanned more than two decades. She has been on the faculties of the Medical School of SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn, New York Medical College, and Albert Einstein College of Medicine in addition to Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She served as the senior associate program director for the hematology/oncology training program at Maimonides Medical Center for 15 years, from 2002 to 2017. She has also served as an adjunct faculty member at the NYU School of Nursing.
Dr. Popp has served as the physician leader, guiding the development of several teaching hospital programs which provide hospital consultation services and ambulatory services to a range of patients at all stages of serious illnesses. Her clinical work has focused on management of pain and other symptoms in patients with cancer, communication skills for clinicians, customizing treatment plans to incorporate the unique values of patients (especially immigrants and patients from minority religious and cultures), biomedical ethics issues in palliative care, and palliative care needs of the developmentally disabled adult.
Dr. Popp resides in Brooklyn with her husband and four sons.

Dr. Sarah Cate is a breast surgical oncologist, specializing in breast cancer surgery. She joins Stamford Health as the chief of the division of breast surgery. She is a graduate of UMDNJ/ Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and trained in general surgery at Westchester Medical Center. She is a graduate of the Mount Sinai West and Downtown Breast Surgery Fellowship.
Dr. Cate has a special interest in oncoplastic surgery, as well as nipple-sparing mastectomies with direct-to-implant reconstruction. She is board certified in general surgery and is certified in Hidden-Scar™ surgery. She was previously at Mount Sinai for 10 years, where she developed and lead high-risk programs for the Mount Sinai Health System, as well as lead the breast surgery quality program for the last two years. She will be bringing the latest research and innovations to Stamford Hospital.
Dr. Cate also enjoys training the next generation of breast surgeons and was the associate program director of the Mount Sinai West Breast Surgery Fellowship. Rachel L. Schreiber, M.D., FAAAAI, FACAAI is a Board Certified Allergist/Immunologist and Past President of the Greater Washington Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology Society.
Dr. Schreiber is a Top Doctor in Washingtonian Magazine, Bethesda Magazine, and Washington Consumer Checkbook. She is named one of “America’s Top Physicians” by the Consumers’ Research Council of America and Castle Connolly. She has also been awarded the “SuperDoctors” distinction.
Dr. Schreiber has published numerous articles in peer reviewed scientific journals, and is co-author of “Allergic Rhinitis” in Pediatric Otolaryngology. She is a member of numerous local and national medical and professional societies, and in addition to her work with GWAAIS, she is the past president of the Capital Allergy Associates and served as a Board Member for the Pennsylvania Allergy and Asthma Association. She is the Maryland State Delegate for the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. She has mentored students in the Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership class at George Washington University School of Business and guest lectured in GW’s “Medical Issues in Sports Medicine” class. She has served as the Honorary Medical Chair of the Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) Walk in Rockville, MD. Dr. Schreiber gives lectures to school staff, administrators, and parents about food allergy. She has given professional lectures to other physicians, including the Montgomery County Pediatric Society and at the NIH.
Dr. Schreiber graduated Phi Beta Kappa, Cum Laude, with a B.A. in English from the University of Maryland’s General Honors Program. After completing a research fellowship through an Intramural Research Training Award at the National Institutes of Health she went on to graduate with her M.D. from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine internship and residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), and her Allergy/Immunology fellowship at UPMC/Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
After practicing Allergy/Immunology in Pittsburgh, Dr. Schreiber moved back to her native Maryland in 2005, and has been practicing in the area since then. She opened Schreiber Allergy in 2015. Dr. Schreiber has worked with multiple media outlets, including the web, print publications, radio, and local and national television to educate the public on practical medical issues.

Dr. Taraman is active in the community as the past president of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Orange County Chapter, board member of AAP-California, and committee member for the development of the AAP National CHILD health registry. He also serves on the Irvine Unified School District Medical Advisory Board, volunteers for the Capistrano Unified School District and with Girl Scouts of Orange County.
Recognized globally as an innovator and specifically an advocate in the field of pediatrics, Dr. Taraman has been involved with the development of three FDA designated breakthrough devices, awardee of the prestigious National Capital Consortium for Pediatric Device Innovation grant, and is an advisor to Board of Directors for the International Society for Pediatric Innovation.
He is the Chief Executive Officer at Cognoa and formerly served as the Chief Medical Officer leading the clinical trials that led to the FDA authorization of Cognoa’s lead product, Canvas Dx, the first and only FDA authorized diagnostic device for autism for children 18-72 months old with concern for developmental delay.
Dr. Taraman graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Michigan having majored in Biochemistry. He completed his medical education at Wayne State University School of Medicine and went on to complete residency and fellowship training in Pediatrics and Pediatric Neurology at the Detroit Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of Michigan. Dr. Alan Rozanski is Professor of Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and Chief Academic Officer, Executive Director of Cardiac Education and Fellowship Training Programs, and Director of Nuclear Cardiology for the Department of Cardiology at Mount Sinai St. Lukes.
A graduate of Yale University and the Tufts University School of Medicine, Dr. Rozanski completed his Internal Medicine and Cardiology Fellowship training at Mount Sinai Hospital and a fellowship in Nuclear Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
While at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Dr. Rozanski founded a large multi-disciplinary program in Preventive and Rehabilitative Cardiology and initiated research which helped lead to the creation of a new field of Behavioral Cardiology. This led to a prestigious Sabbatical Fellowship from the MacArthur Foundation to study the determinants of health-promoting and health-damaging behaviors alongside many leading behavioral clinicians across the nation.
In 1990, Dr. Rozanski joined the cardiology staff of St. Lukes/Roosevelt Hospital (now Mount Sinai St. Lukes and Mount Sinai West Hospitals) where he eventually served as Chief of Cardiology before assuming his current positions.
Dr. Rozanski is noted for his unique clinical and academic focus and novel research that uniquely integrates the fields of Preventive Cardiology with Health Psychology and Behavioral Medicine.
In addition, Dr. Rozanski is a leading expert in applying Cardiac Imaging for optimal Risk Assessment and Clinical Decision Making among patients who are candidates for cardiac testing due to risk factors or symptoms which are suggesting of heart disease.
Dr. Rozanski is the co-author of over 270 peer-reviewed medical articles, book chapters and medical editorials, many of which are considered seminal contributions to the fields of Cardiology and/or Health Psychology.

Pessy J. Sloan is an Associate Professor in the College of Arts, Sciences and Education of Daemen University. Dr. Sloan earned her Ph.D. in Clinical and School Psychology from Hofstra University in 2000. She teaches graduate courses in both early childhood and childhood special education. Prior to joining Daemen University, Dr. Sloan held various teaching positions in the undergraduate and graduate education field. She has many years of experience as a Cognitive-Behavioral Therapist (CBT), school psychologist, psychoeducational evaluator, and researcher. Her primary research areas are gifted students and STEM education (with particular focus on women in STEM fields) and she is a passionate advocate for gifted education.
