If you were searching around Google for ways to make money online or pick up a side income... you probably got wrapped up into online business somehow.
Dropshipping, Affiliate Marketing, Selling Courses, you know... all that stuff.
I've come to realize that one of the biggest problems that I have with any online business venture is trying to find a balance between building an audience, and building a stream of income.
There are influencers out there that will tell you the best way to go is to provide a lot of free value online and grow a massive audience before you start your business. This is because you will then have a warm audience to promote your products or services to and have higher conversions out of the gate.
On the flip side, it can be pretty hard to grow this type of a following when you have no real results and nobody cares about who you are. Like seriously, who's going to follow the guy that is trying to grow an Instagram page to support a business when they can just follow someone that has been running a successful business for a decade or so?
This is a lot like the online entrepreneurship version of "need a job to get a car, but need a car to get the job"
So what can you do about it? Well we find out in this episode.

So today I'm going to talk about what entrepreneurship is all about, and why most of you guys out there on the internet are doing it wrong.
Remember when you played sports as a kid and had to stretch before every practice? There were always those kids that just went through the motions, and then there were the kids that actually stretched their muscles.
A lot of the "entrepreneurs" on social media now are simply going through the motions. Saying that they provide value, but not providing any type of value. Saying that they are entrepreneurs, but not making a dime. Saying that their audience is the most important thing in the world to them, but doing NOTHING when they ask for help.
Don't be someone that just goes through the motions in anything... ESPECIALLY entrepreneurship.
You're only wasting your time, and everyone else's.
It's Sunday Funday Everyone!!
Gerard has a new motion capture class this term for his schooling so we decide that that's going to be the main topic of the podcast today... because motion capture is cool.
You know, like those people in the funky suits with little white balls all over them? Yeah. Cool.
Gerard is even going to get to BE in one of those suits so you won't want to miss that.

I've been dreading this day for a while guys.
I am on a mission to do podcasts for 365 days in a row... but I have finally lost my voice.
So what do I do now? Sure, it would be smart for me to probably have a back log of episodes for when things like this come up... and I do to an extent, but I want those episodes to come out at certain times.
So what other solution can I come up with to this problem?
Well here is what I am going to do, I am going to write a blog post with all of the content that would have been in today's episode.
Maybe I'll come back and update the episode when my voice is back... or maybe I'll leave it here for people to learn from.
If you want to read the blog post and get today's information in written form... just go to my website, justinrp.net
It's been a really crazy week and I didn't really know what I was going to talk about to wrap the week up.
So I decided it would be a good time to take a step back and wrap up basically what the whole podcast is all about.
I'll tell you a little bit about what is happening moving forward, and really spell out some of the main things I want you to understand.
To anyone that hasn't listened to the show yet... this actually wouldn't be a bad episode for them to start on.
Enjoy...
We all have our bad days.
We get sick, things come up, emergencies happen.
However, in these times is when we can really be tested in life sometimes. Tragic situations are often actually the best and worst things that happen to people because it can really wake them up and help them understand what is going on in the world.
Simon Sinek once said that tragedy will often times push people right into their "why" as opposed to pulling them away from it. That's interesting to think about, if you think about it.
I also heard an amazing quote from James Lawrence on an episode of "The MFCEO Project" the other day, which I allude to in the podcast but here is the actual quote.
"He who knows their why (to live) can bear almost any how."
-James Lawrence
Maybe the most insightful thing I've ever heard.
The point here being, that when things start to spiral out of control in our lives, we always like to start questioning how we're going to get things done. Sometimes it's not even when things start to go wrong. Sometimes we just doubt ourselves.
So think of this the next time that you are faced with a challenge, even if it's one you brought upon yourself, and realize that if you know WHY you are doing it, that you should be able to bear almost any how.
We've all been in situations like this, where we just don't know how we are going to do it.
And if you think back to a time where you got something done... and you have no idea how you really pulled it off... it was probably because it was for the most powerful "why" in your life at the time.
I am not having a great day.
I woke up at 5:30 in the morning (normally I wake up at 7:00) with a pounding headache, fever, and knew I had to start my day at 8:30. Couldn't decide if I wanted food or just couldn't eat, that kind of thing.
Then, I went to class, and after that I jumped in my car and had to drive all over Timbuktu today for family reasons. All while fighting this fever.
I get back to my dorm room later on in the evening, only to realize I left my mouse at my house, and then on top of that I screw something up with my recording software and my microphone.
It is also midterm week. Yikes.
So point being, I'm not having a great day. You know what though? Did I sit around moping about it? (Other than this description and podcast, which is working for me... by the way)
No. I put my head down and still got done what I needed to get done.
Now I still need to study for two midterms tomorrow and also try to make a post for Instagram in Photoshop (without a mouse).
The bottom line is... I will get it all done, and probably re-design my logo and put up a blog post on top of them. I am that dedicated.

Catch you guys tomorrow!
There is just this one thing that everybody seems to lack anymore and I really wish I could find it in more people.
I don't want to give it away in the description but...
If everybody could just be a little bit more independent, and a little bit more adaptable...
I think the world would be a much more productive place..
Take a listen.
