Hey everyone!
In today's episode I am taking a concept right out of Sam Ovens's playbook.
I just started watching Sam and I am very impressed with his content. In one of his first videos that I watched, he talked about this concept of Lions not caring what the sheep think.
I think that is such a great analogy for entrepreneurship, because entrepreneurs are really basically just a different breed of people.
Entrepreneurs stand out. They don't follow the crowd, and they know how to take care of themselves no matter what the situation.
Most importantly, they do not care what the sheep think, and it in no way, shape, or form affects the way they go about their lives.
Because why would a lion take advice about how to run its life... from a non-lion?
Enjoy the show.
Hey everyone,
In a recent poll I ran on Instagram, I asked for suggestions of topics I can talk about on the podcast.
Someone said I should talk about business OR real estate investing.
So let's start with business. That's what I talk about. So keep listening if that's really what you want.
As for Real Estate... That isn't really my space.
I'm not trying to discount real estate, but I just haven't looked that deep into it because I see far more potential for myself in other areas.
However if you are very serious about getting into real estate, there are a TON of resources you can find on the internet to get yourself started and to get yourself educated.
I mention them in the episode.
Hope you all have a good one!
And don't forget to subscribe to the podcast and leave a review on iTunes! Just as well, you can find me on YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and so on if you just try hard enough...
Thanks again!
So I was asked this question on Instagram the other day.
"What is it like to be going to school as an entrepreneur?"
This question was pretty simple... but it actually sparked a whole lot of ideas.
There is so much debating out there on whether college is worth it, too expensive, useful in any way, etc.
The truth is, sometimes we need to learn how to just evaluate our own situation, what the REALITY is, and make good choices.
College is working WELL for me and I already dropped out once.
The time that I spent off was one of the WORST times of my life... so that tells me something about whether or not I should be here.
I'll go over that in full detail in today's episode.
I honestly feel like if you've ever heard of the Blue Man Group, then you've also stumbled across Kent on the internet at some point.
You might know him better as "Snubby J" or "that kid that played 'The Office' theme song on his PVC pipe instrument."
Either way, Kent made his own PVC pipe instrument after being inspired by the Blue Man Group. A few trips to every hardware store in the area, a bunch of working cutting and building, and a video later... Kent is an internet superstar.
So in this episode I talk to him about his journey with the Blue Man Group as well as with actually building and carrying out these project with the instruments, and then dig deeper into how YouTube and social media has played such a big role in his success.
You can find Kent on Instagram @snubbyj and you should DEFINITELY check out his YouTube channel "Snubby J"
Especially if you're into music... or just cool things.
It's SUNDAY!
That means Gerard comes on for a day and I get to take a break from talking about business and entrepreneurship, and talk about whatever we want.
And these weeks special topic is... COLORS
I've actually always found it super cool to talk about how colors work. Why we see color, what causes color, all of it.
It's a subject that can really start to mess with your head, and it's also pretty much an endless supply of information.
You can never do too much research on it.
So with Gerard being an artist and all, we thought it was a good topic for us to talk about.

When is the right time to raise the minimum wage?
Obviously this is a question with no definite answer.
Yes, at some point or another minimum wage will rise, but what actually happens when it does?
Well it depends on the timing and the cause and effect relationships involved.
What do you think?

BAH HUMBUG!
Okay okay... wrong holiday, but my inner scrooge comes out around Valentine's Day too.
Although, I'm not quite as bad... I just see dollar signs everywhere, so it's around these times that my head really starts spinning, as I watch everyone everywhere throw their money out the window.
I needed to rant about this... so I did.
I found an article that had an awesome infographic with cool stats on Valentine's Day... you can find that article here:
https://wallethub.com/blog/valentines-day-facts/10258/
Turns out, we throw a lot more money into chocolate and oversized teddy bears than we might think.
If you also do not believe in participating in all of the Valentine's Day shenanigans, then please like this video.
If you do, then let me know in the comments below how much you spent this year. ;)
I'll catch all of you guys in the next episode and explain how minimum wage works.
I stumbled across this interesting article today on Medium that was explaining about how some people are entrepreneurs, and then others ACT like they're entrepreneurs... Here's a link to that
"How To Stay Broke Forever" by Tim Rettig:
https://medium.com/swlh/how-to-stay-broke-forever-e7b8a48c6219
A lot of what he says in that article is actually hilariously accurate and guess what... I think he is talking about me.
The truth is, I am not a real entrepreneur, at least not yet.
The good news is, I'm self-aware enough to admit that.
There's a big problem now though where people want to call themselves an entrepreneur at the drop of a hat.
I sold something for $5
I created a website
I taught myself to code
I hired a graphic designer
No, that does not make you an entrepreneur.
Let me know if you agree or disagree down in the comments below, and I will try to get back to everyone.
I'll be back tomorrow with a new episode.
Today's episode is short, sweet, and to the point.
As many of you may know, a lot of the time that I spend not making podcast episodes, I spend watching them.
I was just watching a show with Dave Ramsey on and he gave this analogy that I thought was pretty good so I decided to come on and share it myself. What he was saying was along the lines of "if you expect to get corn, then you need to plan corn."
Basically, if you have some sort of expected result, there is an action that you actually need to take in order to get that result. Now people expect too much for doing absolutely nothing... and this mostly pertains to money.
So many people have this expected result of getting money... when they aren't doing anything to get it. The money is just like the corn, if you want it, you'll have to do what it takes to get it.
With corn, it's planting it, working in the fields, turning the land over in the sun, there's work. With money, it's finding something you're good at. Finding something that you can offer the world. Find solutions to problems. Then offer your solutions to the world.
If you're not getting what you think you deserve.. it's probably because you're not doing anything to get it.
