Against all odds and Governor Portola’s advice, Junipero begs for a ten day respite. They’ll offer a novena to St. Joseph, praying that they might continue their journey northwards, to found the Mission of Carmel. But will their prayers be answered?

Junipero Serra’s mission was never easy. Arriving in the new world for the first time, his missionary efforts were cut short by a deadly Comanche raid. Even so, he never gave up on his trust in God. Through ten years of administrative work, he trusted radically in God’s providence and allowed himself to be an effective instrument in God’s plans. He teaches lessons of trust, obedience, and hope, even in the face of extreme persecution.

This series contains moments of intensity and fear, including arguments and raised voices. A battle is portrayed. A character dies from an arrow wound in-scene.
