On a high level, it is a place to rent, borrow or buy a used bicycle. But it is so much more. They have done a spectacular job making their space a welcome place for everyone in the community. They have had great success with programs, events, and keeping their shop full of usable bikes, and they believe every community should have the same available to anyone who wants to get into, or back into cycling.

Recently, the Dream Team executive director, Scott Matter, and current Dream Team members Jeremiah and Ennovy appeared on the "The Kelly Clarkson Show" to introduce the organization and its mission to the show's national audience. Scott is on this episode to share his experience travelling to New York for the show and also to give us some exciting updates on the Dream Team. The Dream Team is a unique opportunity for youth to build relationships, achieve personal growth, and learn life skills. The five month program is based in Des Moines, Iowa and culminates with the team riding together across Iowa on RAGBRAI.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic autoimmune disease that affects the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord). RAGBRAI Ride Director Matt Phippen is one of those people living with MS. On this special episode, Matt talks about his MS journey. Coach Ertl is back to talk to us about training for RAGBRAI LII! NOW is the time to start getting those training miles in so that you can be in your best shape to tackle the miles, and hills, of Iowa in July. Coach Ertl says preparation is the key…training your body to sit on the saddle for long periods of time, testing out equipment and clothing, and of course dialing in your nutrition are just a few ways to get yourself prepared. And don’t forget to get your bike tuned up!

TOMRV is back on June 7 and 8!! This is a challenging two day bike ride based in Iowa that has been in existence since 1978. Tina Anderson from the Quad Cities Bike Club is on to talk about this popular event that attracts over 1,000 cyclists annually. Riders come to ride the scenic and challenging roads along the glacier-carved Mississippi River Valley. From flat stretches to steep bluffs, TOMRV offers a variety of terrains that challenge riders, from competitive racers to fitness enthusiasts. In addition to well-stocked SAG stops, there will also be bike support on route by certified bike mechanics.

Murph and AP were on the road for this episode, getting a first hand, behind the scenes look at the beginning stages of planning for each of the RAGBRAI LII overnight towns. RAGBRAI directors Matt and Anne visit each of the communities many times to go over timelines and all that goes into hosting us riders in July. Iowa looks a bit different in February, but the RAGBRAI buzz was high while Murph and AP sat in on meetings in each of the overnight towns. RAGBRAI LII overnight towns include: Orange City, Milford, Estherville, Forest City, Iowa Falls, Cedar Falls, Oelwein and Guttenberg.
