This one is short but it is about courage. Courage is essential to stoicism because a lot of hard things require courage. Being honest does require a lot of courage; speaking up for truth and honesty also does require a bit of courage.
Welcome to July! This is about stoicism. I will give you the steps I have used to create my life in times of stress. This is the intro to what the rest of the month will be like. My voice is way calmer and lighter. I did that with the intention of not adding too much excitement. Here I go over the principles and how I incorporated them into my life.
How can you be free? What does Freedom even mean to you? To me, being free means that I wake up and I make my own choices free of underlying motivations like, for example, making money. It is being able to do something without having any master in place. It is the ability to live my life the way I want to and not how society wants me to do it. Can we create our own freedom? In this podcast I go over how it possible in some extent to create your own freedom, but know that it has conquences.
How to get rid of gaslighters? This one was personal because I honestly fall into this trap with people. I have gotten a lot better at not falling in. People that gaslight I would like to believe they do not do it on purpose, but they actually do. Most people who gaslight know exactly what they are doing but they just want you to be the bad guy. Because somehow blaming you, completes their whole life, and now they can cry or be sad because of the evil you have done them wrong.
Let’s talk about limits we put on ourselves, believe it or not what we say about and to ourselves matter. Let’s keep this in mind all year around. The stupid talk that you say to yourself, does play over and over like a record in your head. How you can change this, is by finding out what your limiting beliefs are and how you can reframe them. How can you change the conversation you are having with yourself? Listen to find out.
Sending out lots of prayer to her family, but mostly her children! This is a terrible tragedy and I pray for her children, this is awful she was so young! But heaven got another angel!
Good friends can get on our nerves; on this podcast, I am talking about the relationships we have with people. Sometimes to preserve your friendship, it calls you to take a break from the person. And in good friendships, I believe this is necessary. I think a good friend is the person who shows up when you need them the most. They pick you up when you are down. Now you have some people who are always down, or they do it for attention. I am not talking about that kind of person. I value my friendships with people because I can be honest with them, and I would hope they would be honest with me. Relationships are investments, and I personally only want to invest in relationships where I am contributing to someone's growth, and they are contributing to mine. See, loyalty is dangerous because we sacrifice or personal mental real estate for fear of losing someone who does not add value.
This one is personal again, but really personal. I have spoken before about my father and is somewhat personal struggle. This time I am talking about the divorce and how his take down of my mom, is leading to the take down of the entire family unit. I talk in this podcast, the struggle of having an aging parent, but one who malicious and will do anything to prove there point.
Okay so here is another one that is off the cuff. It is okay to not be in a good mood, to be sad, to cry, to be mad, and really to feel things. The issue is the labels put on us when we display these emotions. I work 14 hrs a day and deal with sick patients, as I do with an unhappy family, my work and family ha become one. When do I get a break? I work incredibly hard because no one has given me anything; I didn't come from a family with an empire. I had to battle belittling comments, told I would amount to nothing to have those same people lean me. I want a day when no one requires anything from me. I am burnt the f*** out. And so I had a meltdown because my body gave out; not being in alignment with myself, is how I got here. Remember, people won't change, which leaves the responsibility up to us, as to what we will tolerate.
