Show #53  -  Interview with Doug Lightfoot 

Doug Lightfoot has been a police officer since 2002. His duties have included Patrol Officer, Investigator and K9 Handler. He is currently employed as a Patrol Sergeant.  Doug has taught classes on active shooter response, firearms and women’s self-defense. Doug’s credentials extend to the private sector where he has worked private security, primarily teaching personal defense and security awareness.

Doug has been a life-long martial artist and has studied a variety of systems including several years as a competitive boxer and kick boxer.

Doug’s passions include serving God and his community, being a loving husband and father. Doug enjoys teaching others how to defend themselves, shooting and fishing.

In this interview we discuss:

1. Deciding what you want a home protection dog to do.
2. Researching the laws in your area in regards to “dangerous dogs.”
3. Researching and selecting a trainer/breeder.
4. Evaluating your home life in order to help you choose the correct dog.
