Kainantu Resources is an Asia-Pacific focused gold mining company with two prospective gold projects, KRL South and KRL North, in a premier mining region, the high-grade Kainantu gold district of PNG. Both projects show potential to host high-grade epithermal and porphyry mineralization, as seen elsewhere in the district. Kainantu Resources has an experienced board and management team with a proven track record of working together in the region; and an established in-country partner.

Kainantu Resources’ aim was to identify high quality assets in close proximity to other existing producers and the company settled on two assets which are in close proximity to K92 Mining’s high-grade, producing gold mine. 

This is a rich mineral area and as well as high-grade regional geology, Kainantu Resources has local and national support from the government and the Mineral and Resource Authority in PNG.

Both the KRL South and KRL North projects have had legacy social licensing issues in the past. These issues have been resolved as old clan leaders have gone and the projects now have the support of the local community which is fundamental to the future. 

Kainantu Resources has identified prospects and they are in the process of trenching at these prospects with the intention to delineate some drilling targets moving forward. The company has published some samples which show a high grade system and there are more samples being processed, coming out in a couple of months.

Targets and goals for 2021 for the company are to move towards a defined mineral resource for the projects and also to provide an opportunity for accretive regional collaboration in PNG. Kainantu Resources aims to build a successful junior mining company in Asia-Pacific and plans to build the company taking it to the next level step by step. 

Kainantu Resources raised C$4.1m at the end of 2020 and they are now fully funded for the next year.
