The annual meteor shower is dazzling the skies of Israel with the peak being this weekend as the earth passes through a cloud of cosmic dust left behind by a comet. The Israel Nature and Parks Authority have teamed up with the Israel Space Agency to hold events for the public across the country to experience the meteors and stars. Israel faces what could be a wider war further impacting the economy, which has been dented from the 10-month-long war with Hamas already. And yet, markets and consumers seem to be plowing ahead with a sense that the war was but a brief detour on Israel’s path to ever-greater power and prosperity that came in the aftermath of Israel’s other wars. Israel is braced for potential attacks by Iran and Hezbollah, following the back-to-back killings last week of the top Hezbollah military commander in Beirut, and the Hamas political leader in Tehran. Prof. Eyal Zisser, an expert on Middle Eastern affairs and vice rector of Tel Aviv University, spoke to KAN reporter Naomi Segal about the developments.

Over 200 BBC staff, contractors, suppliers, and contributors have written a letter  declaring  that antisemitism is systematic  at the BBC, claiming  that “Jews don’t count.”

 The signators are demanding  “an urgent formal investigation” into what the letter described as “anti-Jewish racism” at the BBC.

BBC Chair Samir Shah dismissed the calls for an investigation, praised the BBC’s “inclusive” culture, and highlighted a process for whistle-blowers in response to the letter.

Two people were killed  were killed in a terrorist stabbing attack in Holon on Sunday morning. Two other victims have been admitted to Wolfson Hospital and are listed as being in serious condition.

   The terrorist, a Palestinian resident of Salfit in the West Bank, who was in Israel without a permit, was killed on the scene of the attack by police officers.

For many youth, a summer camp experience is a formative one. For youth displaced by the ongoing war, the framework can also provide one for healing, building resilience and reconnecting.  Summer Camps Israel, an umbrella organization that works with summer camps, has worked throughout the year to provide brief camp experiences for those children affected by the war.
