The details released this week about the infiltration from Lebanon of the terrorist responsible for Monday's roadside bombing by Megiddo junction, in which an Israeli civilian was wounded, also left many questions unanswered. These include: How did the terrorist cross the border, who was behind the attack, how should Israel respond?

KAN reporter Naomi Segal spoke with (res.) Lieutenant Colonel Sarit Zehavi, founder of the Alma Research and Education Center, which focusses on Israel's security challenges on the northern border, and first asked for her thoughts on how the infiltration was carried out.

Protests against the judicial overhaul continue, while efforts to negotiate a compromise between the various parties appear to be deadlocked.  At the same time, international financial groups are warning that implications of the reform might be harsh for Jerusalem, and world leaders have expressed concern for Israel’s democracy.

KAN's Mark Weiss asked Dr Tamar Hostovsky Brandes, a Senior Fellow at the Institute for Israeli Thought, what , in her opinion, are the dangers posed by the judicial overhaul.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is in Rome  for a 3-day diplomatic visit.

Protesters against the government blocked roads to Ben-Gurion airport in a bid to thwart his plans, forcing the PM to fly to the airport by helicopter.

 Netanyahu will meet in Rome with his Italian counterpart, Giorgia Meloni. He and his wife Sara will also meet with  Jewish leaders. 

Netanyahu is expected to push Italy’s hard-right leader to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
