Ameer Abdul - is a 25 year old Activist & Campaign Manager at PERIOD - The Menstrual Movement, that continuously work to find ways to make a positive impact on this World
We sit down to have a super candid conversation about how he always approached life from the mindset of an activist, finding himself by going deep and asking what truly matters to me and how this life is not without struggle and hardship that we must fight just as much as we fight for justice in the World. He shares his beautiful journey with us, how he fights removing period poverty and toxic male masculinity while also just being a young guy in this World that is trying to figure out life just as the rest of us.
I am so proud and honored to share this conversation with Ameer!
How our generation, GenZ is extremely passionate about the work we do and courses we fight for, but how it sometimes can be difficult to to channel that passion into impact and real lasting change - and how we then can do that.
The importance of taking care of yourself as an activist, because without a healthy mind, body and soul how can you fight for justice?
How life sometimes just leads you to your purpose, and having the courage to say; No this is not for me even though society, people close to you etc. Is pushing you to say yes.
Toxic Masculinity & how the new generation of men is more truthful, brave and confident redefining what it means to be a man.
What it truly means to be an activist and how it is more a state of mind, being than a 'job-title'.
The importance of community and how to cultivate the power of it as force for change.
And so much more ...As always, THANK YOU for listening along & being YOU.
