I believe this past year has been a rollercoaster, eye-opener and gamechanger for us all. I have felt lost, in doubt and uncertain, but I have also felt more hopeful, connected and inspired than ever before.

For me at least, this year has been an eye-opener into what I actually was meant to do. For so long, I have been running through life, striving for some idea of perfection and success, that I honestly never saw myself in, but that I thought would keep me safe. I always felt life was on uncertain grounds, so that is why safety means a lot to me, but this year taught me that bravery is what makes me thrive. That bravery is what makes me, me.

So yeah, I cried three times recordings this episode - oh well it happens, deal with it. I share my manifestations for 2021, talk about getting back to my creative roots and just living life more freely believing that life has a plan for us all along so why not just give life all you have.

The world is a better place, because people have the courage to be who they are. So promise me that you will be brave enough to be that too. 

Designing a future that works for everyone is at the core of The Index Project. They are here to transform the world through design. I sat down with their Community Manager, Ditte Fiil Ravn to talk about how the design can be a game-changing tool to improve life, and get a deep dive into all the crazy, ‘out-of-this-world’ and incredible ideas and projects they are working with, which include steak grown from cow cells, using technology and nature to explore new and sustainable colour alternatives and insulin pens and temporary tattoos for kids with Diabetes 1.

The Index Project has a powerful mission : to redefine design from a commercially driven discipline to one that’s used to improve quality of life — for everyone. Back in 2005 they launched the first Index Award. Like most award programmes, it was initiated to celebrate the world’s best and brightest within the field, but it turned out to be so much more than that. The humble concept of design to improve life grew into a global movement. And now, people all over the world — from kids as young as six to celebrated visionaries — are using design to bring humanity forward.

As they say it themselves: We celebrate people, from far and wide, who are using design to change the world. We call it #designtoimprovelife

Let me just tell you, you are in for a treat with this episode. Heidi is just such a magical soul, that is pure inspiration to listen to. She has a story that is so powerful, and what she has managed to achieve in her young life is something that I can only admire.

Heidi was born in Switzerland, and when she was 15 she left home and ventured off to pursue a career in hospitality. She speaks 4 languages fluently. She worked and traveled around the world to mention some of the highlights The Ritz Madrid, Silversea Cruises, SLS Miami - SBE company and Kempinski Berlin. In 2017 she fulfilled her dream by becoming self-employed as co-owner and managing Director of WIPS , an international boutique recruitment agency that specializes in executive recruitment within luxury hospitality, the agency was founded in 1988 and is today based out of North America, New York. They focus on impacting people's life positively, and all things Heidi do is all about expanding that and touching people's life for the good of them. Episode 0: Introducing Let’s Talk About It with host, Rebekka Gustafson 

I am so excited to share this journey with you, and start my new adventure: Let’s Talk About It - The Podcast. You might know that I used to have a podcast with my twin sister Sara, which was such an amazing journey where I got to talk with so many incredible people from all over the World, create new friendships for life and transform our own life. We ended up being one of the biggest health, wellness & spirituality podcasts in Denmark, and we were so sorry that we had to pause the adventure, but sometimes life just gets in the way.

I am beyond excited to be back podcasting. It’s pure joy for, and sharing all the knowledge and wisdom that I receive along the way with you is my pride and joy.

Let’s Talk About It started as a question for me: Why are there so many we don’t talk about? But also as a personal quest with the purpose of holding the space for meaningful conversations that are here to transform the World and take you to your highest self. It’s an open and inclusive space, where I will have diverse guests and conversations that are designed to inspire and empower you along the way. We touch on subjects within health, wellness, biohacking, spirituality, conscious leadership and so on.
