IS THIS TOO MUCH INFORMATION? Come to think of it, why would it be? Periods, vaginas, flows... They’re all a natural part of our bodies. They should also be part of our conversations. So Do you dare to do things differently? Do you dare to speak up about the things that really matter? Do you dare to break down barriers?
In this episode I speak to Fiona Liyen, who's a Regional Manager at OrganiCup - A Danish founded company who fights to make periods more sustainable, end period poverty and let no one be held back by their body.
For OrganiCup it has always been about more than cups. They believe period products should not contain harmful chemicals nor absorb natural bodily secretions, resulting in infections. Periods should not be the cause of major pollution. And they should never, ever be a source of shame. Those four sentences have been, and continue to be their guiding principles, and let to the #NewPeriod manifesto which is the measuring stick they turn to in every decision they make.
In this episode we talk about:
What is period poverty & how do we fight it?
What is a menstrual cup & why it is a gamechanger for your health, periods and wellbeing
How OrganiCup is more than just a cup, but a company on a mission to break down barriers and shame around periods, and how we should never feel embarrassed or ashamed of our bodies and periods.
Why it is so important to include men in this conversation
And so much more! So let's talk periods, menstrual cups & period poverty with Regional Manager for OrganiCup, Fiona Liyen
