ambitious, empathetic, idealistic, Jasmine is a 2nd Generation Filipino; born and raised on the Big Island of Hawai’i. Graduated in 2019 with a degree in Biology she aspires to achieve her dreams to give back to her community in the Big Island to be one of the Filipinx physicians care taking the Filipino populations out there. For her to reclaim her own Filipinx identity is to dismantling settler colonialism mindsets
and taking the initiative to learn more about her own culture and cultivating or passing it to others Through her Upbringings, Losing it in college to Witnessing importance of culture in choosing friends, communicating with patients, etc -> interest in learning language, participating in community projects she hopes to continue paying it forward to her future children.
