I have spoken to a lot of people over at the Success Club community and I was amazed that people did not have a sales funnel in place and some did not even know what a sales funnel.

So, to begin with, I will explain exactly what a sales funnel is. Basically put, it is the buying process that companies lead customers through when purchasing products. With an online business this typically means that you offer a lead magnet, and this could be a free ebook, webinar or a consultation in exchange for their email address so that you can start a relationship with them, You then can start sending out a regular email offering further tips and offers that eventually, and hopefully, to a sale.

Today I am talking about getting started with mentoring.

Not only is mentoring good in the workplace as it gives a new starter a great way to settle them in with the team, and then by keep mentoring them, they will grow in confidence and be a major asset to your business.

But it is good to start a mentoring program for your online business as a way of sharing that knowledge you already have and people will pay handsomely for too.

So what exactly is mentoring? Mentoring is essentially about helping people to develop more effectively. This can be within your business or it could be a program that you develop and deliver online.

However, Mentoring is not the same as training, teaching or coaching. It is more bout asking questions to find out what the individual’s goals are, so that they can lead and guide that person to their goals.

They need to offer support and help the individual to use self-reflection so that the individual can help put their own action plan in order. I often ask the mentee, what went well, what did not go so well, and what would you do differently next time?

So how would you offer a program that you became the mentor?

After doing an initial assessment of the mentee, you can write an individual learning plan for them, and them give them a roadmap for them to follow, with a way for that mentee to ask questions as they go along their journey, and you can offer, say, weekly coaching sessions with them as an individual, or in a group.

So many people don’t understand why their social media efforts don’t work for them and one of the reasons for this is that they use a scattergun approach and they just don’t plan it, deliver it or evaluate it on a consistent basis.

So the first thing you need to do is to Identify Your Goals. As Steven covey once said, ‘start with the end in mind’.

So you need to think about what it is you want to achieve with your social media efforts and make sure that you plan your goals to be a SMART goal.

I am a huge believer in re-purposing content. One idea is to create a course from your book, this has to be one of the biggest game-changers there is for a passive income.

I use Scrivener to create both my books and courses, I like the way that it is laid out and that you can move pages really easy as well as putting in your research notes too!

Although Scrivener was created for authors, Scrivener provides a management system for documents, notes, and metadata. This allows the user to organize notes, concepts, research and whole documents for easy access and reference so I use it for writing my blogs, newsletters, and courses.

So first of all if you don’t know what a printable is, it’s a digital download in the form of art, graphic designs, and even text in a form of a book or colouring books, either children’s or adults, which seem to be really popular at the moment.

People can download them from a website and print from your own computer, or upload them to places like Amazon where people purchase your printable in the form of a book and Amazon will pay you royalties when someone purchases your printable.

You can also sell printables on your own website or places like Etsy, but today, I am just going to focus on selling printables on Amazon.

Amazon is great for selling printables because they will market it for you, print it out, send it to the customer, take the payments and deal with all the customer service. You just need to create the printable and upload it to Amazon KDP website, get it approved and then collect the royalties when Amazon sells it.

First, you need to plan it all out… you know that I am a huge believer in planning… Let’s start by looking at some of the topics you could write about. They need to align with your core deliverables and it needs to be something you are passionate about. Why? Because your readers will feel that you are passionate about your subject, and if you are not, whey should they be? The other reason is that when the going gets tough, your passion will see you through.

Without a doubt, creating and growing a mailing list has to be one of your top priorities in your business. But you need to create a lead magnet that is right for your business, otherwise, you will not attract the right people to your business.

I have said it before, and I will say it again, start with the end in mind, and failing to plan, is planning to fail. So here we go. Let’s start with the planning.

By starting with the end in mind you need to plan what do you want to achieve? Do you have a course on a subject you want people to join, or maybe you have a membership program that you want people to enrol in. By giving out some free content either as a checklist or perhaps some information from your course or membership, you could give away for free that will help them achieve their pain point.

In giving away some free content, you will align your business with your ideal customer, which brings me to your ideal client....
