Zion Thompson, Ikaika Antone, and Jordan Espinoza are 3 of the 5 current band members from the popular Reggae band called The Green. Zion, the guitarist, and Ikaika, the keyboardist, are former band members of a group called stir crazy. Jordan is the band’s drummer who joined the team in 2011. Together with their two other band members Caleb Keolanui and our past podcast guest Brad Watanabe they make the super team of music called The Green. With four distinct voices, the ability of four separate songwriting talents, and musicianship of “pop-burnish roots reggae style” that they cooked up, The Green quickly became a popular local band on the island and beyond. Countless miles of touring, six studio albums, iTunes best Reggae album of 2010, 3 Nā Hōkū Hanohano awards in 2014 for Group of The Year, Reggae Album of The Year and Entertainer of The Year have led them to become recognized as one of the industry’s best. In this episode we talk about about their individual journeys in music, how the formed the band, their brotherhood and love for each other, the tour life, important band updates, and so much more. Enjoy!
