Joining us for this weeks conversation is the highly respected and regarded Ken Bloch. Ken speaks to us about process safety, gives us some insights into what he has learned during his extensive time in the process safety field and reminds us of the consequences when things go wrong.

The Bhopal disaster happened nearly 40 years ago yet it is rarely spoken about in safety circles. Thousands of deaths, many more people left with serious long term injuries and illnesses this is the very human face of catastrophic failures in a safety system.

Kenneth Bloch is a senior EHS professional who specializes in petrochemical industry incident investigation and failure analysis. He has nearly 40 years of experience in plant maintenance, Process Safety Management, technical, and operations roles.

He speaks regularly at AFPM, API, and AIChE process safety symposiums about experiences that help prevent recurring process safety failures throughout the manufacturing industry. Ken is the author of the book Rethinking Bhopal which uses modern references to chronicle the sequence of events that led to history's worst industrial disaster. He graduated with honors from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, with an Environmental Science Degree in 1988.
