Kenneth Arnold's sighting in 1947 kicked off the modern UFO era. A misquotation in the press coined the term "flying saucer" that is still used today, although not as often as UAP or UFO. We discuss some of the finer points of the sighting, as well as some of the many other similar sightings of the time.
