Now that we've been able to start getting caught up on all the things we have left that haven't expired, we have all sorts of goodies this week.

Puffed goldfish? Check. Faux chicken? Check. Faux jerky? Check. Noodles with no English on them whatsoever? Check. Chocolate things? Check.

Our good friend Uncle Kage was gifted a bottle of Soju. Since he does not drink Soju, it found its way to our house. Which means Ursula is drinking Soju this episode. So there is that...

....there is also heat-stabilized chicken, chili chocolate, squid strips, and lots more.

...who am I kidding? There is a mixture of good, bad, and ugly in this show. I'll let you be the judge of which is which, and we certainly give you our opinions. It is time, once again, for us to utter our battle cry :

"We Eat It, So You Don't Have To!"

We are in Minnesota for a few days so Ursula can sign all the Digger Kickstarter rewards that need signing. And since we're here, SofaWolf asked to record a new episode with us. How can we refuse a chance to share the love (for some value of "love") with some of our favorite people (and a sponsor).

There are cheese curds and beer, pate and pasta chips, ciders and ravioli, and a whole slew of other things.

This week, Ursula is having issues with formatting an ebook, so she's grumpy. That does not stop us from eating questionable food, and we do so with gusto! From Steak Bombs (what the heck is a steak bomb?) to fair trade chocolate, from "kosher" mac and cheese to pear cider...

...well, you know the drill - We Eat It, So You Don't Have To!

Not gonna lie, we lose it for about five minutes in this episode. Why? It has a lot to do with the amount of alcohol consumed before we actually eat things. Oh, and Bob Evans. But you'll have to listen to get the whole story.

Otherwise, it is more of the same. We heat up things, we eat them. We may have a heated discussion over the difference between a caserole pan and a loaf pan.

This time, we had terrible luck with beer. This means that Kevin had three alcoholic beverages in the first fifteen minutes of the show, before giving up and grabbing something he knows, for a fact, doesn't suck. 

This also means before the first bits of food are eaten, he's pretty sloshed. 

Otherwise, the offereings run the usual gamut from bad to good to just plain baffling. In other words, yet another week, where We Eat It, So You Don't Have To!

So you know those coconut chips we've been raving about? Someone sent us some, and they were made from durian. And while the title is a bit of a spoiler on those, we will not spoil our impressions of the flatbread pizza, or the He'Brew beer. Or even the pomegranite cider.

As many of you know, we get a lot of things in the mail. I'm not complaining, because you love us so much you want to share (or you hate us so much you are trying to kill us - sometimes it could go either way...). So we try to eat everything that comes in before the expiration date. 

This week, we dug into the cabinet full of things, and out came all sorts of stuff - including the cake referenced in the title of this episode. We also discover which cat will eat dried broad beans, the proper use for Turkey Jerky, and a pumpkin ale that is just WOW.

Has it been three years already? We'll do an aniversary show, I promise. But this week, it is time to delve into the back-log in our pantry. And that means hidden gems and lumps of clay. In fairness, it may be easier to eat clay than one or two of this week's selections.

But the beer is good, and we're not dead yet - although we may be wishing for it when digestion really hits.
