The Tampa Bay Rays were defeated on Jackie Robinson Day byt the Los Angeles Angels 7-3. Although the game started as a pitcher's duel with the way Zach Eflin and Patrick Sandoval were pinpointing their offerings, by the time the 27th out was recorded, it was anything but that. The Rays had opportunities to score, especially in the 5th inning with bases loaded, no outs and their best hitters coming to the plate but none of them could get the ball out of the infield. Mike Trout opened the game with a big blast, even though first base was open and it could set up the double play. Kevin Cash after the game when asked replied, "I'm okay with not walking Trout there."
