SHOW NOTES – Episode 3, Season 1 – Limiting Beliefs

How are your limiting beliefs holding you back from what you want?

Carolyn’s limiting beliefs and the changes we made:

I won’t be successful because I didn’t graduate college BECAME It doesn’t matter if I went to college, I will still be successful.

I need drugs and alcohol to calm my anxiety BECAME I have the power to calm my anxieties in healthy ways.

I am a procrastinator BECAME I get shit done when it needs doing, God damn it!

Becca’s limiting beliefs and the changes we made:

I am a manipulative and shitty liar BECAME I am an honest, truthful, good friend.

Nobody cares what I have to say BECAME I have something important to say.

Something bad is going to happen to me or my family BECAME even when bad things happen, I have the power and resources to turn it around.

    A couple of takeaways:

    * The truth is the truth ALL the time, if you’re telling yourself “the truth” be sure it’s a truth that is always true.* You are not one thing, don’t assign yourself negative attributes that you could easily change. What are you, really?* Worrying about what might happen ruins the present – don’t bother!* The best way to shut up the voice is to take action! Show that little voice that you can do what you say you will do, it will shrink against your daily actions!

Homework:  Create YOUR list of limiting beliefs you tell yourself and flip them on  their heads by changing the language, practice telling yourself these  new beliefs, and truly buy in!

BREAKING NEWS: We are now available on STITCHER, OVERCAST AND SPOTIFY!  Damn the man, throw your iPhone in the toilet!

SHOW NOTES – Q&A 2, Season 1 Is it important for my family and friends to support my dream?

    Carolyn says:

    * Focus on who is in the “arena” with you doing battle, not those in the peanut gallery throwing stones.* Seek out those who understand what you are doing.* When your idea is a little seedling, nurture it and be careful who you share it with.*

    Becca says:

    * Stay away from invalidators who will simply tear you down to make themselves feel better.* Don’t forget you are responsible, your dream is beautiful but don’t over-rely on the resources of others to move you forward. * Use the buddy system, find someone else who has the same or similar goals and align yourselves.

  • (Your!) Definition of Success

SHOW NOTES – Episode 1, Season 2 – (Your!) Definition of Success

How do you define success?  If you change the definition can you feel prouder, happier, stronger, better?

    Carolyn says:

    * Definition: a favorable or desired outcome, or the attainment of wealth, favor or eminence.* Measure yourself by what you actually want, not by what other people think success is.* Measure by who you are, not what you have.* Look at what you are doing, and see how you are living most of your days* “I feel successful when I am enjoying most of my days”

    Becca says:

    * Focus on congruency, meaning what you think, feel, say, and do are in alignment.* Actively doing just a little of what you like to do on a daily basis can make you feel like you are on the right path and can give you spiritual energy.* Listen to the feeling in your gut, if you feel bad about what you are doing you’re probably not going to feel successful.  * Showing off is NOT success.* “I will feel successful when my family is happy and healthy and I feel empowered to speak my mind in any situation knowing that I’m capable of dealing with any consequence.”

Book Mention!!: And NOW this is also a hit Netflix series that we didn’t even know about!

Homework:  Create YOUR definition of success.  Write it down and read it to yourself a few times.  Do a gut check and make an edit if you need to.  Now, think about whether or not you are moving toward these goals or are tirelessly working toward things you don’t really care about. Tell yourself what you are doing well and make a commitment to tweaking the areas that need more attention.

  • Q&A with your Favorite Panty Kickers!

SHOW NOTES – Q&A 1, Season 1 “How do I make an authentic online dating profile?”

    Carolyn says:

    * Choose your platform carefully.* Describe your Friday from start to finish, this way someone can see what you DO to help understand who you ARE. * Be as descriptive as possible!

    Becca says:

    * Use friends to keep you honest! * Let them choose pictures that really look like you.* Ask them if the details you’ve written reflect reality.* Don’t be afraid to be yourself. If someone isn’t attracted to you when you’re being honest about who you are, do you really want to date that person anyway?

  • Q&A with your Favorite Panty Kickers!
Time for Q&A with your favorite Panty Kickers; Carolyn and Becca! This week we tackle how to create an authentic online dating profile. It's so tempting to be someone else online, but when you're eventually going to meet IRL, you've got to do your best to be upfront about who you truly are. If you don't know who you are, you better ask somebody!

  • Beware! Don’t Compare!

SHOW NOTES – Episode 1, Season 1 – Beware, Don’t Compare! How is looking at what others do/have holding you back?

    Carolyn says:

    * Perception is reality – stick with how you felt when you put on your big, poofy dress before you went to the 1800’s club – don’t let the way others look take away from your initial feelings. * If you let others make you feel bad, you won’t feel good enough to take action in your own life.* Focus on what’s important to you. Do you even want what someone else has?* Compare your current self to your old self as a way to show progress.

    Becca says:

    * Focus on what’s great about you.  You have wonderful qualities that belong to just you- what are those?  Can you be proud of what YOU have to offer?* Stay away from social media when you’re feeling down.  Don’t put a stick in your hands with which to hit yourself!* Hang out with people who are a couple steps ahead of you.  * Use jealousy as a metal detector to find out what you really wish you were doing.

Book Mention!!: Jen Sincero “You Are A Badass”

Homework:  Think of someone you compare yourself too and do a deep dive into what their life is ACTUALLY like: Now, When they started, AND Along the way!  Remember, that you may be on the first page of a novel that someone else may have already finished. Don’t get discouraged, we all can finish in the end, in our own way.

BREAKING NEWS: We’ve decided to go weekly (despite what we said).
