Secret Witness is offering a reward in the amount of $1,000.00 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspects wanted in connection with the shooting of a victim, in the area of the 2300 block of Prater Way in Sparks.

On Friday at 6:00 P.M. officers responded to the area of Clear Acre Lane and Crystal Lane on a report of a Vehicle vs. Motorcycle accident. It appears that the motorcycle was traveling north bound on Clear Acre Lane when it was involved in a collision with the vehicle. The motorcyclist, a 62 year old Reno resident was transported to RENOWN Medical Center with severe injuries, where he passed away.The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries and is cooperative with the investigation.

Authorities have identified two hikers who died after falling from a cliff at Las Vegas' Red Rock Canyon. The deceased as 49-year-old Sean Christopher Randles and 42-year-old Melanie Leigh Kushnir, both of Las Vegas. Authorities say police received several emergency calls around 3:30 p.m. Saturday about a man and a woman who were hurt after falling in the Red Rock National Recreation Area. An air rescue unit located both of them near the Pine Creek Trail but they were pronounced dead. The incident is still under investigation.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is investigating a commercial burglary that occurred on May 17th, at the JC Penny Store on S. Carson St., around 5 a.m. The suspects broke an exterior and interior door with a large rock to enter the store. They went to the fine jewelry department and smashed four cases and were in and out in less than two minutes. All three suspects were wearing masks and gloves to hide their identities.

The man killed in a Friday night crash on the Pyramid Highway has been identified as 56-year-old Bret Harris of Reno. The Nevada Highway Patrol says Harris was driving the wrong way in the southbound lanes of the Pyramid Highway around 11 p.m. when his white car collided head-on with a silver Ford Escape. Harris was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the Ford was taken by ground ambulance to a hospital with injuries describes as not life-threatening. Harris was not wearing his seat belt according to the NHP.

The City of Reno administrative offices at Reno City Hall on East First Street will be closed on Monday, in observance of Memorial Day.
