Two Fernley residents have been arrested on suspicion of child neglect related to the Friday night disappearance of 8 year old Camron Ritchson.

A Sparks man has been convicted of felony battery and assault charges after a four day jury trial in Washoe County District Court. The charges stemmed from a May, 2015 incident in which a female victim was punched and stabbed with a knife in the face causing severe damage to her eye. 27 year old Joshua Ethan Aguilar, will be sentenced in July.

There will be no bail release for Richard West the Second, the general manager of Jones West Ford in Reno. He's one of nine people arrested in a case involving illegal oxycodone prescriptions and trafficking. Doctor Robert Rand, accused of illegally prescribing drugs to West and the other defendants, entered a plea in federal court afternoon of not guilty. He was also denied bail, and called a "flight risk" and a threat to the community.

The doctor at the center of an investigation into prescription drug-trafficking in Reno is getting some support from former Nevada Gov. Jim Gibbons and former Reno Police Chief Jim Weston.

A man being being sought for a probation violation has been arrested for a killing in Mississippi. 28-year-old Cedric Gunn was placed on probation in Washoe County District court last year after pleading guilty to Conspiracy to Possess a Stolen Vehicle. In April this year he stopped following probation supervision and a warrant was issued for his arrest. The Division of Parole and Probation developed information that he may be staying at a residence in Stead, and soon after got information from authorities in Mississippi, saying a warrant had been issued for Gunn for a 2015 murder. Gunn was arrested on the outstanding warrants.
