More than 500 people gathered in downtown Reno for a dueling rally revolving around funding for the non-profit organization Planned Parenthood. The pro-choice activists outnumbered the pro-life demonstrators on the 400 block of West 5th Street, outside the Planned Parenthood clinic. Some of the chants pro-life activists voiced during the rally was to get rid of Senator Dean Heller and to resist against President Donald Trump. Both Heller and Trump had expressed in the past of having Planned Parenthood defunded. Both parties stood on the same sidewalk, peacefully protesting their stance.

The Sierra Avalanche Center is advising that avalanche danger is moderate today on steep slopes at all elevations due to wind slabs formed by the winds today and during previous storms. Human-triggered avalanches on those wind slabs *are possible* today. The Center recommends avoiding wind-loaded slopes if you're traveling in the backcountry.

Ther's a ruckus in the state legislature over a collective bargaining bill. Assemblyman Steve Yeager is the bill's sponsor. He calls it protection for government workers, whose automatic salary increases would stay in place when union contracts expire. Another provision allows public employees to do union work while they're on the local government time clock. Roberson says that forces taxpayers to pick up the tab.

Reno Police have released the names of two people found shot to death in Southeast Reno on Thursday ... 24-year-old Alex Muratalla of Sparks and 45-year-old Rachel Tams of Reno. Police say it was likely a murder suicide. They say it looks as though Muratalla shot Tams and then shot himself.

Mt. Rose Ski Resort officials say the 2016/2017 snowfall is about to go on the books as one of the biggest snow years ever.

NDOT has temporarily closed US 50 in the Cave Rock area on Lake Tahoe's east shore, after five more boulders fell onto the road. Several times this week, boulders about the size of cars fell from a roadside slope onto eastbound travel lanes.

Governor Brian Sandoval has declared a State of Emergency for Elko County. He also activated the Nevada National Guard to assist with emergency flood response throughout the county, including air support for residents in Montello after a dam break there.

A Las Vegas lawmaker has introduced a bill that would designate English the official language of the state. Similar bills were introduced in 1997, 2011, and 2013 but never received a hearing, and with a Democratic legislature, odds are the current bill will suffer the same fate. Assembly Majority Leader Teresa Benitez Thompson poked fun at the bill by speaking Spanish when she referred it to committee.

Sparks Police are asking the public for help identifying a man who stole more than 13-hundred dollars worth of merchandise from the Ulta Cosmetics store on Los Altos Parkway in Sparks this evening. Police say a white man or a light skinned Hispanic man of unknown age entered the store at about five-thirty Friday evening, picked up merchandise and walked out of the store. Officers called to the incident were unable to locate the man in the area. He was seen driving away in a black 2000 to 2005 Toyota Four Runner with unknown plates.
