In just two days this week, Donner Lake recorded almost three inches of rainfall, and the Ward Creek area had nearly five inches. So are we on tap for a record setting year for precipitation?

Governor Brian Sandoval today verbally declared a State of Emergency for Elko County. He also activated the Nevada National Guard to assist with emergency flood response throughout the county, including air support for residents in Montello, after a dam break there.

Officials in Carson City are closing the city's Emergency Operations Center. They say however, that damage assessment teams will continue working throughout the week. They're also cautioning drivers to be cautious since there's debris in some roadways that can be dangerous. Carson City Public Works officials are encouraging residents to visit www.carson.org to stay up-to-date with weather conditions, road closures, trail/path closures, sandbag locations and resources that are deployed around the city. Additional public information that is released will be posted to the City website flood page.

The Douglas County Board of Commissioners has declared a State of Emergency because of flooding and wind. The flood event is expected to continue through this weekend. The declaration has been submitted to the State of Nevada, and will allow regional partners to speed up the delivery of resources required to more effectively aid in requesting additional resources, aid in recovery, and meet the needs of the community during a time of crisis.The National Weather Service says the Flood Warning in in effect until late Saturday night for the Carson River.
