Kolo 8 is reporting Drug ring suspect Richie West will be back in court Friday and is expected to change his plea.

A person of interest is being held in Carson City, as part of an investigation into threats against Justice Court Judge John Tatro. The threats include a gun being fired at his front door, and an incendiary device in his driveway. 74 year old John Aston is being held on unrelated charges.

Attorney General Adam Laxalt will be presenting Assembly Bill 59 in the upcoming legislative session. It would expand conditions that may be imposed upon sex offenders subject to lifetime supervision. The bill would allow the Division of Parole and Probation to require sex offenders to submit to search and seizure, which can include the sex offender’s residence, vehicle or any property under their control without a warrant, to determine whether the sex offender has violated conditions of their supervision. It would also require sex offenders to only accept employment, including volunteer positions, that have been approved by a parole and probation officer. It would require them to obey any curfews imposed by the parole and probation officer; require completion of professional counseling; and submit to periodic controlled substance tests.

Police are looking for a man they believe robbed three Reno food establishments about a week ago. Police say The man robbed the Subway Restaurant on South Meadows Parkway in the afternoon of January 25th. Two days later he robbed the Subway Restaurant on South Virginia Street on the evening of January 27th. Then he robbed the U-Swirl Frozen yogurt store on Damonte Ranch Parkway less than 40 minutes later. The suspect displayed a firearm in the last two incidents. Investigators believe the same suspect is responsible for all three armed robberies and are asking for assistance from the community in identifying him. He is a white male, early 20's to early 30's, between 5'7" and 5'9" tall, between 150 and 200 pounds, with blonde hair, and a few days growth of facial hair or a short beard.

Senator Dean Heller has joined the bi-partisan re-introduction of a bill that would streamline the regulations for renewable energy projects. Heller says Nevada is poised for great things when we remove obstacles and let our job creators succeed, and renewable energy is no exception. He says its time for renewable energy companies to be able to compete on a level playing field.
