A man wanted on a felony warrant is facing additional charges after police say he tried to run from them. 30-year-old Kyle Howe was wanted for failure to appear in court after bail. Reno Police Department undercover units tracked him down Wednesday night at Plumas Street and Berrum Lane. They used a vehicle to block him in before taking him into custody.

Carson City District Attorney Jason Woodbury will retry 36 year old Peter Elvik, in the death of William Gibson over 20 years ago. The body of 63 year-old Gibson was discovered at the Carson City Rifle and Pistol range on August 31st, 1995. He was killed by multiple shots from a shotgun.

Nevada’s new death chamber at Ely State Prison is complete, but there is no expectation it will be used anytime soon. The state can't get the lethal drugs it needs to proceed with an execution. Nearly $860,000 was approved for the new execution chamber by the last Legislature, to replace the one at Nevada State Prison in Carson City. 81 people are on death row in Ely. There are no planned executions because of legal appeals in progress by those inmates.

Gaming revenue jumped 11 percent statewide in October, compared with last year, and has risen nearly 5 percent so far this year. The monthly state Gaming Control Board report casinos won nearly $990 million last month, up from almost $949 million in September and $887 million in October 2015. The increase in "Win" was propelled by double-digit increases in southern Nevada. The state collected $59.5 million in taxes on the October winnings, up almost 14 percent from the same period last year. Reno-area casinos report a 3.6 percent increase in winnings, while South Lake Tahoe casino revenue was down 22 percent.

USA Today's "10 Best Reader's Choice Awards," has named Reno as the second best ski town in the nation. Truckee came in 5th, and Taos, New Mexico took the top honors. A panel of editors at the newspaper chose the initial 20 nominees, and the top 10 were decided on by the public. The newspaper says when considering Reno, skiing may not be the first thing you think of, but we won second place because of our proximity to the Sierra Nevada Mountain range, and the great entertainment, gambling, and dining opportunities available in the Biggest Little City.

Sparks police are searching for a burglary suspect caught on surveillance camera. The camera captured the image of a man burglarizing Forever 2 Wheels on Greenbrae Drive during the early morning hours of November 13th. Police say someone forced their way inside the business while it was closed. Several bicycles and skateboards, as well as other items were stolen. A suspect in the burglary was also caught on surveillance camera behind an adjacent business. The Sparks Police Department is asking that anyone who may know who is responsible for this crime to call with tips. Call Sparks Police Detectives at 353-2225 or Secret Witness at 322-4900.

The NHP has identified the man charged in connection with the high speed chase yesterday (Monday) afternoon on 580. Troopers say 27-year-old Billy Joe Williamson tried to speed away from a traffic stop, but crashed when he tried to take the northbound ramp on to Mount Rose Highway. He ran off, but troopers and Washoe County Sheriff's Deputies located him near the nearby geothermal plant and arrested him. Williamson has been booked for speeding more than 20 miles per hour over the speed limit, disobeying a peace officer, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to appear after bail, and obstructing a public officer, among other charges.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying persons of interest in a violent home invasionthat happened October 30th. An elderly man who lives alone on Kimmerling Road in the Gardnerville Ranchos area, reported being awakened by unknown subjects forcing their way into his home at around 12:38 am.
