Washoe and Clark County District Courts will celebrate Jury Appreciation Days on Sept. 12 and 13 in Reno and Las Vegas. The events will thank everyone who supports jury service in Nevada.

The Chief Judges of each court will greet people as they arrive for jury service. Jurors will receive certificates thanking them for participating in jury duty. In 2014, Justice Mark Gibbons served on a jury. He calls its a privilege and an honor to serve as a juror in Carson City. Justice Gibbons served as foreperson during his jury duty. As a District Court Judge, he presided over more than 150 jury trials before his election to the Nevada Supreme Court in 2002.

Sparks Police are asking for the publics help in locating 37-year-old Mario Thomas Mendonca. He's wanted for aggravated stalking and violations of temporary protection orders. If you have any information on him, you're asked to call the Sparks Police Department or Secret Witness.

The U.S. Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit is working with permit-holder "ARAMARK Parks and Destinations," to remove soil impacted by a 2011 underground fuel release at Zephyr Cove Resort. Work is scheduled to begin on September 12th, and is likely to continue through late October. The remediation activity will be visible from U.S. Highway 50 and to resort visitors. The resort will remain open for business as usual during the remediation effort. About 25 hundred tons of contaminated soil is being removed.

Reno City Manager Andrew Clinger is resigning following an investigation into the claims that he sexually harassed three city employees. Reno City Attorney Karl Hall says the city would have spent a lot more money if Clinger hadn't resigned. Clinger's resignation is official on October 9th. The city of Reno says the agreement resignation will cost nearly 228 thousand dollars.

The man who tried to stop a tagger from spraying graffiti on a downtown Nevada State Historical Marker, now has a Go Fund Me account set up in his name. He's been in a coma ever since that confrontation spiraled out of control. 68 year old Henry “Hank” Sosnowski is a teacher at Truckee Meadows Community College.
