Reno police and the Regional Gang Unit are investigating a shooting that took place Saturday afternoon on the 2000 Blk of Wedekind Rd. The victim was taken to Renown with non-life threatening injuries. A suspect vehicle was reportedly last seen heading towards Sutro Street. This shooting took place about 2 blocks from where 40 year old Roger Ratliff was shot and killed last weekend. Anyone with information is urged to call Secret Witness 322-4900

A teenage girl was stabbed over the weekend at the Sparks Marina after getting into an altercation. Sparks police say the 17-year-old girl isrecovering from non-life-threatening injuries. According to authorities, the alleged attack happened early Saturday morning. Police say she got into a fight with someone not known to her and she was stabbed with an unknown weapon. A Las Vegas immigration activist is alleging a member of Republican Senate candidate Rep. Joe Heck's staff assaulted her as she filmed him leaving an appearance. Viridiana Vidal filed a police report against Keith Hughes, accusing him of pushing and pulling her. Vidal says she received a bruise on her right leg. The alleged incident happened after Heck met with the group, Hispanics in Politics, in his capacity as a congressman. Vidal is a former Telemundo journalist who now works for the pro-immigration reform group, America's Voice. She was one of about 20 activists filming him and surrounding his vehicle.
