The Sparks Police Department is asking for the publics help to figure out who stabbed a teenager early this morning near the Sparks marina.

Reno police and the Regional Gang Unit are investigating a shooting that took place Saturday afternoon.

BLM officials say the Pinto Fire burning 15 miles southeast of Eureka is now 60% contained.

The Shooting Range Fire off USA Parkway, is now fully contained.

There's now 90 percent containment on the Shooting Range fire burning in Storey County and expect full containment tomorrow. Fire officials say the fire is moving into a controlled status, meaning there is little chance of it spreading. A couple of crews and one helicopter continue to work on the fire to cool down hot spots. The fire remains at 1,275 acres. Investigators say the blaze started Wednesday and was human-caused, but no more specific cause has been determined yet.

This year the U.S. Forest Service is reporting a record number of tree die-offs, and that creates dangerous wildfire conditions. That lack of diversity caused by clear-cutting, coupled with the drought in our area has created a forest full of vulnerable trees.

The Washoe County Sheriff's Office front desk will be closing early all of next week. so that employees can attend special training classes. Front desk hours will be from 7:00 in the morning until 5:00 in the afternoon from Monday through Friday. Normal operating hours are 7:00 to 8:00.

Bureau of Land Management fire officials say the Little Den Fire east of Fallon in the Middlegate area has burned 3,212 Containment on the fire is 30 percent. Full containment is expected by Tuesday. The fire has damaged some areas of General Greater Sage-Grouse habitat and is threatening Priority Habitat Management Area. One heavy air tanker and three helicopters are helping 225 people battling the fire. There is no word yet on a cause.
