    Truckee Police say a Truckee man originally arrested on two felony charges of assault last month has now been charged with voluntary manslaughter after the man he allegedly attacked died. Police say 24-year-old Bryan Luke Sperlin was arrested in June in the attack on 39-year-old Jesse Hill of Chico, California. Hill was found unconscious in downtown Truckee on June 18th. He was taken to Renown Medical Center and remained in intensive care until his death last Sunday.

    Three boys are being sought for questioning in the fire that started on a hillside east of Sparks Wednesday. They were seen in the area around the Sparks "S" behind the Northern Nevada Medical Offices about the time the fire started. They are described as between the ages of 12 and 15 years old. One was white with blonde hair and about 5’9”. The other two were darker skinned and 5’5” to 5’8”. They all wore backpacks and were seen between 12:30 and 1:45PM. They were reportedly picked up from Pagni (Pawn-yee) Park in an older silver Mercedes SUV. If you have any information, you're asked to contact the Sparks Fire Department. The fire blackened more than 25 hundred acres, and is contained.

    Nevada Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is saying that soil samples they've had tested don't contain any chemicals or hazardous materials after a viral video was posted on YouTube showing workers at Production Pattern and Foundry pouring an unknown liquid on the ground. The agency is still trying to figure out what the contents of the barrel were, and they're also looking at waste handling procedures at the plant. Production Pattern and Foundry believes that the video was made by a former worker WHO was trying to get back at the company.

    The state is suing an insurance company, claiming they wrongly refused to pay for the legal and settlement costs, in the patient busing case brought by the City of San Francisco. The state attorney general is suing the Insurance Company of the State of Pennsylvania for refusing to pay. Nevada spent more that two million dollars defending itself and then settling. San Frandcisco sued the state for putting mental patients on buses and buying them tickets to the Bay Area. Adam Laxalt says Nevada has paid more than 5 million dollars in premiums and have never received a payout for the company over the last 13 years.

    Utah health officials say the death of an elderly patient at the end of June was related to the Zika virus, the first Zika-related death in the continental United States. The unidentified resident of Salt Lake County had traveled to an undisclosed destination where the virus is circulating.
