A former law enforcement officer's now behind bars at the agency where he once worked. Former Washoe County Sheriff's Deputy Andrew Casacca has been arrested and charged with selling sensitive information to an undercover agent posing as a drug dealer. An FBI agent with the Reno office says he learned in January 2014 that a deputy had been selling sensitive law enforcement information to local drug dealers. Casacca allegedly met with a confidential informant at a strip club,saying he would consider working for a drug operation and could provide information, such as running license plate numbers or accessing names in law enforcement data bases.

Two men are in jail after deputies discovered narcotics and a stolen hand gun during a traffic stop. The Washoe County Sheriff’s Department says deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of Lemmon Drive and Millitary Road just before midnight Tuesday. Arrested were Jimmie Dombeck of Reno and James Avampato of Sun Valley. During the traffic stop, a Washoe County K9 alerted on the vehicle, and deputies found trafficking amounts of methamphetamine, marijuana, prescription pills and drug paraphernalia, as well as a stolen handgun.

Construction is booming in Reno, but skilled laborers, are in short supply. Contractors say the increased demand is leading to higher costs and longer construction times. When the bubble burst in the late 2000s many of the skilled workers left town. Now, with homes, apartments, and industrial buildings all being built, there are fewer laborers than there are jobs, and the ironic problem is, the more local housing costs rise, the harder it is to get those workers.

Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk says the proposed acquisition of SolarCity Corp could eventually push the electric car maker's valuation to $1 trillion, but investors were skeptical. Shares of Tesla were down nearly 7 percent, The much smaller SolarCity was up nearly 9 percent. Tesla offered to buy SolarCity in a stock deal worth as much as $2.8 billion.

The Reno Police Department is asking for the public’s help finding a man who robbed the Walgreen’s at South Virginia Street and Moana Lane just after noon Wednesday. Police say the man entered the store on South Virginia St. held employees at gunpoint and then took an undisclosed amount of money.
