They go to the temple and get darshan of Maa Kaali They admire the intricate divine sculpting of the deity and feel the divine vibration there. After darshan they meet a youngster named Sattanathan who expresses his keen desire to learn sculpting from them and write a book on sculpting in his name, for the future generations reference. He wants to name the book as Sattanathan Sirpasaasthram. The youth's unwavering desire awes Gunavan and Lathi. They ask him to approach their chief sculptor, but unfortunately he had refused to teach and hence the youth pesters Gunavan and Lathi to teach him. They hesitate and then after much deliberation decide to teach him. He then leads them to Brahmarayar. Sattanathan is actually a spy appointed by Brahmarayar for spying the sculptors and their work. Gunavan and Lathi meet Brahmarayar and explain to him about the necessity to create a model of the temple. Brahmarayar gives them 1000 gold coins and asks them to pursue their work. Gunavan and Lathi return back and give the gold coins and update kunjaramalla perunthatchar about their discussion with Brahmarayar. Sandi Homan being conducted for the welfare of the Chola kingdom is successfully completed . The scene shifts to the merchants habitat where all the merchants hold a meeting and discuss as to how they can increase the price of all the produces since there has been a lot of good harvest that year. At the same time we can see different dance dramas enacted by the Devaradiyaars and how the artists and dramatists were appreciated and revered by the Chola people. This enrages the merchants.
