This week, we deep-dived into the film world, but obviously did our little pit stop at Great Britain for the latest updates in the UK Official Singles Chart, as well as our little run through the latest musical releases from last Friday (1:40). To kick things off, we talked about the Venice Film Festival, which surprised many after deciding to hold an in-person event for its 77th edition (4:48). Thereafter, we continued to our movies and began with Mulan, which was finally released in the US (and many other countries) on Disney+ this past weekend (19:12). Lastly, we chatted about TENET, one of the most anticipated films of the year, not only by fans of director Christopher Nolan but also by the entire Hollywood because of the movie’s magnitude and the impact its grand international debut at movie theaters may have in times of COVID-19 (38:13).

Después de comentar una y otra vez sobre esta película pudimos finalmente celebrar el pasado final de semana. Así es, Los Nuevos Mutantes por fin debutó en EEUU y claro que fuimos a verla. After mentioning this movie over and over we could finally celebrate this past weekend. Yes, The New Mutants was finally released in the United States and, of course, we went to watch it. However, before diving to chat about this subject, we quickly visited the UK Singles Chart to give you the latest updates followed by our little #newmusicfriday run through (1:50). Back on the mutant track, this week, we decided to do something different. We dissected the complicated journey that this film (part of Marvel’s X-Men universe) had to arrive at movie theaters. We covered a little bit about the intellectual property and copyright linked to some of Marvel’s characters, went through the many release date changes as well as screenplay rewrites the movie had over the last 5 years (6:14).
